As christians we should not be ashamed of our past, everyone has made mistakes, should germans be ashamed to be german because of what hitler did? No. I am sick and tired of those hypocrites complaining about the church when they do not realize all the shit they had to deal with. So suck my balls bitch.

um.
sort of agree (except for the final, loving line) except that I sort of disagree. I'm kind of ashamed of the geonocide that my anscestors comitted. I think that that's natural. I think it's called morality. So suck mine, andrew.
I can't really forgive them, until the Christians give me back my 500 years of scientific advancement lost at Alexandria, or at least make an effort to contribute to the progression of science instead of hinder it. They ask forgivness, but have done nothing to earn it. Until then, I hold them accountable for all of their 'mistakes'.
How about being ashamed of your present? Like all the ongoing child abuse, rampant discrimination and indoctrinating lies?
As far as i can see, nothing from the past has changed yet. Suck it right back, hypocrite, and choke.
I like how Christians are all supposed to be so moral and righteous, and then you get these crazy fundamentalists doing exactly the opposite of what the Bible tells them to do. I guess they take the Bible so literally that they begin to use some parts of the Bible as an excuse to do things that other parts of the Bible tell them not to do.
@Mog
You don't live in Europe, do you?
We're sort-of past that. The generation that was young back then is passing away and the memories of that war is going with them.
For better or for worse.
The difference is, the Germans have learned from their ancestors' mistakes. If nazism were ever to rise again, Germany is probably now the least likely place on the planet for it to take hold.
Christians, indeed most religions (certainly all the Abrahamic ones), however, will cling dogmatically to flawed tenets no matter how many historical disasters they precipitated.
Uh, yeah,,,, but the modern-day Germans don't worship Hitler as the son of god.
Todays Germans aren't responsible for Germanys past, many Germans from that time were objectors to the whole thing. That was the Nazi party, now if you're a modern Nazi you do carry that weight as you are agreeable to it's tenants.
Now as a Christian I won't hold you responsible for past Christian Atrocities UNLESS you deny them or make ridiculous excuses for them: "I am sick and tired of those hypocrites complaining about the church when they do not realize all the shit they had to deal with"
Their complicity with the Nazis? Their special protected status in society? Their unpaid for crimes, luxurious pampered lifestyles, exemptions from laws, taxes, labors?
Yeah, others are hypocrites.
Confused?
