Do we give this one partial credit for accepting evolution?

if women did not work in competition with men, we would have -0- unemployment
If women didn't work, then they'd be unemployed. Reading between the lines, I'm getting the idea that you don't think that women are people.
8/18/2011 5:51:13 AM
And, if women did not work in competition with men, we would have -0- unemployment and would be welcoming immigrants with open arms because there would be more jobs that takers
Well gee, you take out half of the workforce when there's only ~10% unemployment and you think it's a huge revelation that we'd be looking to import workers from other countries? Oh, and am I the only one that thinks this guy might be unemployed and had his job taken by a (more capable) woman?
8/18/2011 5:54:35 AM
you live in a fantasy world; women have always scraped out a living to support their children, even before the bronze age.
8/18/2011 5:55:07 AM
Hmmm, women vs the immigrants. Very clever indeed.
8/18/2011 6:00:44 AM
Then why do fundies support politicians whose policies are eliminating the middle class and forcing families to have two bread winners in order to keep their heads above water?
8/18/2011 6:03:35 AM
Zero unemployment with women staying at home? Alternate bizarro universe award?
Unemployment rates of some countries with "traditional women's roles":
African countries in general: > 40%
Unemployment rates of some modern, gender-equal countries:
New Zealand 6%
"Spinnaker" fell into the classical trap of the so-called "Luddite fallacy". Work isn't something with a fixed amount which needs to be "distributed".

Funny coincidence, I spent the last couple hours at BadassOfTheWeek.com.
Tell that to Princess Pinyang of the T'ang Dynasty. She and her father forged one of China's two Golden Ages. She stabbed assassins in the face and forged a bunch of angry peasants into an army that deposed the Emperor. With her father stuck on the outskirts for much of the initial conflict, she was in the thickest of the fighting.
Tell that to Khala bin al-Azwar, a woman who so impressed Khalid bin Walid at the battle at Yarmouk he gave her a command position and told any of his men to stuff any problems they had with that. To this day much of the Muslim world names schools and military units after her.
Tell that to Grace O'Malley, "Pirate Queen of Connaught" who dominated much of Ireland.
Tell that to Boudicca, Katherine the Great, or if you really wish to be relieved of your defective balls say that to Ranavalona the fucking Cruel.
I'll just stand way the hell back here where the blood spatter won't reach me. The stench of failure is harder to get out than the stains.
These are women who forged empires in blood, fire, cunning, and pure "don't fuck with me" but you're saying it's not supposed to work that way in the natural world?
Don't get me started on the male/female relationships in the animal kingdom, boy. That'll make your head a'splode.
8/18/2011 6:18:49 AM
Are you also sorry for the people who think it's monumentally stupid? Because we deserve an apology for being subjected to this drivel.
8/18/2011 6:23:21 AM
The earth is more than 6000 years old? And evolution happened? We is making progress here.
8/18/2011 6:26:41 AM
Actually, before the intervention of religion both genders were EQUAL, although with some matriarchal influence. Also, as Passerby pointed out, there are many ass-kicking women through history that completely contradict your theory.
And evolution takes a wee bit longer then 10, 000 years, my dear.
8/18/2011 6:30:02 AM
The hell? Do we actually have a fundie who accepts evolution?! Of course, he completely misunderstands how long it takes. Ten thousand years is not nearly long enough to permanently and irrevocably alter the workings of the female mind. There is absolutely no scientific evidence that women are in any way inferior. Also, there is loads of empirical evidence that countries in which women have equal opportunities are much better off than countries in which they don't. These same findings pointed to a correlation, so this is not just a coincidence.
8/18/2011 6:35:37 AM
I don't think you have any concept of how difficult life was before modern conventions. It was a world so harmful that the old and straight forward division of labor was necessary for survival. Men and women both had dangerous and difficult jobs beyond 'man hunt' and 'woman birth'. If you can't even get that and realize how life is different in First world countries then you're dumber than you look.
8/18/2011 7:15:00 AM
Well how about that. The fundies are willing to accept evolution when they think it supports whatever ignorant set of "facts" they're pulling out of their asses. I'll bet Spinnaker broke out in hives just from typing the word "evolution."
8/18/2011 7:21:15 AM
I am not going to wear your burqa, asshole.
8/18/2011 7:39:24 AM
Yet in evolution, everything else including our closest relatives, the female works just as hard, if not harder than the male
"(And, if women did not work in competition with men, we would have -0- unemployment and would be welcoming immigrants with open arms because there would be more jobs that takers )"
And if Republicans would quit fucking over the poor so that a two income family isn't required to SURVIVE, I'll bet a lot of people would leave the work force
8/18/2011 7:45:02 AM
Logic: If we put half the country out of work, we'd have more jobs! :D
8/18/2011 7:49:09 AM
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:
Your argument is invalid.
...oh, and notice where she's standing. The shape of things to come? Do the likes of Elizabeth I, Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi, Benazir Bhutto, Maggie Thatcher (*spit
*) and Angela Merkel ring any bells? Does the thought of President Hillary Clinton scare you? Good.
We've had the first
Catholic president (JFK), we have the first black
president. Ergo, nothing's
impossible. Q.E. and D. >:D
"Women at the top of the human food chain do not work, do not compete with men to be "male" and seek relationships with traditional values and status . The single and lesbians are only out there because they don't deserve male protection."
List! What is yon sound in the distance? Why, it's the sound of all the surviving Rosie the Riveters (in WWII), opening their toolboxes, taking out extremely large spanners and grinding their teeth in unimaginable rage at your words.

Forwarded to Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin for 2012.
8/18/2011 8:27:43 AM
Now if only we had jobs that paid wages that a whole family could live on. A family can't survive on one income anymore.

I have a feeling that the true boss in your household is your mother. You're just lucky she let's you live in her basement.
8/18/2011 8:38:22 AM
What no apology for those of us who think it "illconceived" or "irrational"?
8/18/2011 8:47:56 AM
Oh fuck off, you misogynistic twat. Just because you're not getting any from any gender, doesn't mean you have to try and make the rest of us miserable.
8/18/2011 8:56:45 AM
Okay, I'll stay home with the kids and you can have my job. Just make sure all the preschoolers learn everything they need for the competitive world of kindergarten (no, really). You might have to clean out the classroom library to get rid of all those awful books about equality and diversity. Oh, and make sure that the girls only play with dolls in the pretend kitchen while the boys get all the other toys. Maybe while the boys have math time, the lunchladies can help the girls make sandwiches for them.

The person who thinks this is sexist?
I'm pretty sure you'd have been far more accurate in making that a plural.
