I'll have to remember this next time someone calls. Brilliant.

Now there was a guy desperate for a sale ... either that or his call-centre software doesn't let him end the call himself.

I usually try to get the telemarketers to do phone sex.
They get very offended and upset. But anyway ...

Jesse, I did that once.
\"Mr. ******, I'd like to offer you the blah blah blah...\"
\"You've got a sexy voice.\"
\"Yes, Mr. ******, if I could just have... wait, what?\"
Classic. It went on for about a minute before he gave up. He was actually laughing about it towards the end, so I wasn't too concerned about insulting him.

Nah, you need to follow Super Troopers:
Telemarketer: \"Sir we are offering new credit cards.\"
Me: \"I don't really need one meow.\"
(makes sense if you've seen the movie)
And so on. I got up to 5 once, but it's hard to do it when friends are in the room.
I've always had the urge when they ask, \"Is _______ there?\" to say, \"No, I just killed him.\"

Ricky -
I was in sales for a couple years. Did mortgages for a while, did some B2B tech stuff, too. I never had anyone use the meow game on me, but the guy in the cubicle next to mine ... he and I had daily contests to see who could slip more meows into the conversation.

Ugh, these people are so dense. You would think that him asking about the mortgage refinancing near the end would spark something in their brains saying \"Hey, this guy must have done all this just to get a sale!\"

I think this is the first time in my life that I've actually felt sorry for a telemarketer.

Are you sure he answer you that, or that he was just trying to sell you a mortgage?

See, you witness to the guy, but you know when he gets off shift at 8AM he's taking Priya from the next cubicle over for breakfast and a thorough cornholing. I hear those call center people are surprisingly liberated for conservative India.

When I was telemarketer I got credit for keeping someone on the phone for a certain amount of time whether I sold them anything or not. It was cnosidered \"better\" than having them hang up.

It's amazing the shit telemarketers will listen to.

I hope he gets the telemarkter on their last day of the job.
"And did you know Jesu-"
"Sir, I honestly don't give a shit, I am getting paid for every minute I keep you on the phone."
