Ive allways been a hardened believer that the moon landing was faked but i have to admit these pictures are starting to make me think twice. Im not ready to give in the offical story just yet though as there are just to many things about the moon missions that dont add up.

Would NASA really go so far as to just photoshop these pictures?

Maybe they really did go and just the footage and the pictures of the mission were faked.

Maybe NASA has managed to send stuff to the moon since the apollo missions just to make it look like they really went there. This is a way out idea but if it WAS faked they might just go to these extreme lengths to try to cover their tracks (no pun intended).

My instinct tells me there is something not right about the whole Apollo mission thing. What we need is more independant evidence.

If you know where to look, and have a decent telescope, you can actually see the equipment left behind on the moon's surface from your backyard.

Of course, that would entail pulling your head out of your ass.

"Would NASA really go so far as to just photoshop these pictures?"

I'm not so sure that anyone could photoshop the pictures 50 years ago...

I don't think there is evidence that would convince you. Even i threw you to the moon, you would believe that it would be a sound stage on mars.

Ironic statement of the year award.

Yeah, Japanese space ship provided photographs of Apollo landing sites, with all the remainders of human activity right where expected. Can't get any more "independant" then that.

i have to admit these pictures are starting to make me think twice.

Well, at least this one is starting to see the light.

Maybe they really did go and just the footage and the pictures of the mission were faked.

Or, maybe they really did go and the footage & pictures weren't faked. Why fake all the video & pictures if they really did go to the moon?

Maybe NASA has managed to send stuff to the moon since the apollo missions just to make it look like they really went there.

Do you really think that NASA would go to such extraordinary lengths to cover a moon landing hoax as to send rockets to the moon to plant space trash there? It seems like it would have been far easier to actually land people on the moon than to fake numerous moon missions.

My instinct tells me there is something not right about the whole Apollo mission thing.

What you mean is that you're not entirely ready to give up your conspiracy theory. Just let it go, dude. I had the same feelings when I gave up religion, but I feel a lot better now that I'm able to think logically & critically.

What we need is more independant evidence.

Translation: We need more conspiracy websites and poorly-done youtube videos to make me keep believing in the moon landing hoax.

Yes, NASA went to the moon but decided to fake all photographs and video transmitted to Earth while the astronauts were there. The fake photographs were exact replicas of real photographs, only fake, created at great expense. Artists labored months just to get shadows and motion almost exactly right, leaving only a subtle sense of wrongness that scientists could explain away.

Here's a dramatic re-enactment of the planning meeting.

@Doubting Thomas

I think you hit the nail on the head. What we're seeing here is the death spiral of a conspiracy theory.

Conspiracy theories are like memes. They fall in and out of fashion. Remember water fluoridation? CIA mind control satellites? Where the hell did they go? Well, they're just not fun believe in anymore.

The entire point of a conspiracy theory is boredom and wanting to feel special, that you have special knowledge the other "sheeple" don't. It's all very immature, and it sounds like someone's starting to grow up.

Independent evidence? You mean like the mirrors that were set up so that anybody on Earth can fire a laser at the moon and get a reflection? Or how about that probe sent by Japan which took pictures of the exact same spots?

I swear, some of these people still wouldn't accept that the moon landings happened even if they were sent directly to Serenity Base and told to have a look around. They'd probably wonder why they couldn't see the stars and think that all of the footprints were photoshopped (no, I meant what I said; photoshopped).

Dr. Razark

Ugh.

You know, NASA could go to the effort of sending stuff to the moon and setting it up to look like people had been there so they could take pictures of it 40 years later.

Or, they could do a much simpler task. Like send people to the moon.

Although, I must admit it is fun yelling "It was all faked on a sound stage!" as the tourist trams go rolling by. (But don't let me roll down the windows when driving on site any more.)

And yet, somehow the Soviets were convinced enough to stand down their planned lunar landing.

I recommend the episode of The Mythbusters where the "fake landing" is addressed.

No matter what the cause, it is always entertaining to watch someone perform the most impressive mental gymnastics imaginable in order to continue ignoring reality and keep hold of their precious unrealistic beliefs. Makes me feel like Stephen Hawking by comparison.

2. Wait 3 seconds.

Not true, Percy. You can see the equipment with a telescope, but you just can't get the resolution required from your backyard even with a kickass telescope because of atmospheric interference. If you could get past that, though, yeah, you could take a look.

And as mentioned, the laser test does work, provided you can hit the thing.

Would NASA really go so far as to just photoshop these pictures?

Seeing as how Photoshop didn't exist back when the moon missions were running, I'd say not.

Maybe they really did go and just the footage and the pictures of the mission were faked.

*blank stare* And what would be the point in that?

What we need is more independant evidence.

You ignore all the actual evidence which shows we went to the moon, so why do you need more?

Javascap

Yes. Yes, they took pictures in the 1960's and used supercomputers provided by the Illuminati to photoshop the pictures. Yeah. :/

9/19/2011 7:19:59 PM

Citation needed for the photoshop. That they MAY have photoshopped the landing(difficult in 1969)doesn't automatically mean that THEY DID.

Here's some independent evidence for you: The Russians were monitoring the moon landing, and they'd have been *very* happy to bust NASA if it had been fake.
