You don't need Hugs From Jesus, you need a straitjacket. The real Jesus facepalms & thinks you're insane. Have fun in your bunker while life goes on as normal in the real world! Dork.
Obama's just another Head of State. He can't just switch-off the Web "like that".
If the Rapture were "for real", all the real Christians would be sucked up, all you ChristoFundies will be "Left Behind". Imagine all of these nice, caring, charitable, selfless, loving, Christlike humanitarians, Mainstream TradConservatives, Moderates & Liberals....perhaps non-Christian "Honorary Christians" as well, Christlike Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, NeoPagans, etc....ALL RAPTURED!
"Left Behind" are the jerks, dictators, sociopaths & Fundies.

Everyone, IF the cRapture happens I have several copies of the Bibble, both hard copies and on my Kindle. Along with copies of the Koran, Tibetan Book of the Dead, Upanishads, etc.
But since the Bible says nothing about the cRapture, being that it's a delusion in the head of stupid people, I don't know how much good it would do us.
Personally if all the fundies were raptured* my only thought would be finding enough alcohol to properly celebrate such a wonderful event.
* I think we can agree the Rapture will never happen; but it is possible that they could all simultaneously commit suicide after getting impatient with waiting and realizing that their little cult will never get is way once gay marriage is legal in all 50 states.

I think that you're thinking waaaaaay too much about this. And there is no "internet switch" that the president or any government official can just flip and turn it off.
And the only reason the bible would disappear from store shelves would be if toilet paper was in short supply.

Yes, Obama will turn off the Internet but only because he needed somewhere to plug in his coffee maker.

"It is weird to think that after the Rapture this forum will be empty of posters."
If the rapture DOES happen, I'm guessing you lot will be left here.
Actually, I might start a book. who'll give me odds that the first post on RR after the rapture is "Obama has 'disappeared' a load of 'suppsoed' Christians away to death camps and claiming they've been raptured just to make it easier to hide the real rapture when we all disappear! (sprinkle random smilies throughout)"

It is weird to think that after the Rapture this forum will be empty of posters.
The heck it would. It would be filled with the wailing and gnashing of teeth among all the bigoted, hate-filled, judgmental fundamentalists wondering if perhaps "love thy neighbor" meant something more than lecturing people on how they're going to hell for listening to heavy metal, dressing in short skirts or getting baptized as infants.

"I don't know much about technology."
Obviously not, if you think Obama can shut the internet down.
You also might want to bone up on physics, biology and history.

Could the POTUSA shut down the internet? No! Could the POTUSA degrade the World Wide Web to the point of unusability? Yes!
Given the logistical back up and about 12 pounds of Semtex, I could do it so I'm sure that the Commander in Chief of the worlds largest military could as well.
The only question is why would he, or I, bother ?

Wait a minute...what the heck still runs on D batteries? A quick check of my household items shows that my stuff, remotes, flash lights, phone, radios, all run on double or triple As, various types of those tiny cell batteries, and device specific rechargeable lithium batteries.

First off, the Internet cannot be shut down by presidential order. You do realize that it is a worldwide network, right?
Second, the rapture is a fantasy for retards like you. Since it's never going to happen, the rest of your idiotic question is moot.

Just get Norton, and then Obama's stupid-ass won't be able to hack or nuthin'. Also it'll help immensely if you take Computer Science III.

No, he won't. If he really wanted you shut down, he would have done it by now. End of discussion.

I like how it starts off with the question that if the rapture happens will Obama turn the internet off (turn it off?? huh?), and then closes with "back to my main quetsion, do you think Obama will turn the internet off for whatever reason?"
I've got news for you. "for whatever reason" and "if the rapture happens" are not synonyms by any long shot, idiot.

From thread:
"It is a good thing non-believers are reading sites like this one.'
And many are having a terribly good time at your expense.
"Faith comes through hearing and hearing through the word of God[sic].'
Odd, I always thought faith comes from childhood indoctrination, and lack of emotional maturity as an adult. Maybe a healthy dose of reality denial as well..oh wait, that's covered under the emotional maturity clause.
"Scripture is posted on here from time to time and often referenced.'
And if scipture doesn't frighten the hell out of you, nothing likely will.
It is interesting to see the hive mind in action. One person proposes some bit of utter rubbish, and given anough time churing in The Wurlitzer, it has always been so.
