[On the age of the universe]
Sorry, starlight [from billions of light years away, revealing that amount of time has passed] is the biggest copout ever. When do you see the starlight? Today. End of story.

Well, with just the same line of "argument", I could claim sheer nonsense like this:
"Sorry, to claim that Jesus lived 2000 years ago is the biggest copout ever. When do you read the bible? Now. End of story."
"Sorry, I don't believe you that you are exhausted after a long flight. When did you arrive at the airport? 10 minutes ago. End of story."
"Sorry, I don't believe that you were ever a child. How do you look now? Like an old man. End of story."
"Rom831", you would surely agree that all of this is nonsense, won't you?
"Sorry, starlight [from billions of light years away, revealing that amount of time has passed] is the biggest copout ever. When do you see the starlight? Today. End of story."
Sputnik 1 - the first artificial satellite - was sent up, revealing that the Biblical model of the 'universe' (a flat Earth, supported on pillars, and a solid dome or 'Firmament') was not only the biggest copout ever, it was proven - by Atheistic Soviet scientists - to be the biggest load of superstitious bullshit ever conceived. When was Sputnik 1 sent up? 1957. It's now 2011. The Voyager deep space probes - launched in 1977 - have left our solar system.
End of story.
But only for you fundies and your so-called Bible. Not for science, though. Not many gaps left. Three letters: L. H. C.
You’re one of those people that don’t get the Old Lady Speeding joke, right? Right?
Old lady gets in her car, drives downtown, goes past a school. Cop pulls her over for speeding.
’Ma’am, i measured your speed at 60 mph.”
“Per HOUR?” she protests. “That can’t be right. I only left the house twenty minutes ago!”
We’ve measured the speed of light.
If it came from a star A LIGHT YEAR away, it’s been traveling for A YEAR.
That’s how it works.
It’s no copout, it’s HOW THE DIPSTICK WORKS, dumbshit.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
