By "natural law" they're referring to the "natural law" referred to in the Bible and the writings of guys like St. Augustine... the idea that even though God didn't specifically reveal anything to the Gentiles, nature nonetheless has God's laws written into it so that people are without excuse when it comes to sin. They should've just known better than to go against nature/God.

My first thought was that he was referring to the Robber Barons of that period, whose stranglehold on the country's wealth was finally broken up by anti-trust legislation (which has nearly ceased to be enforced since the coming of Ronald Reagan). There was also a growing awareness and outcry during that period about the plight of the teeming population of poor, homeless or living in tenements.
Because, you know, all that silliness about keeping people from starving or being turned into slaves by the very rich is terribly un-Christian.

While there are certainly progressive Muslims, the ones you're talking about (the ones that want to invite the apocalypse) are not progressive. In fact, they have much more in common with ultra-conservatives like those here in the US. They too can't wait for the end of the world, hate gays, hate women, hate non-believers, and want to force everyone to believe what they believe.

1) Most progressives are Christian.
2) You can't destroy a natural law. It's not like the law of gravity written on a piece of paper and burning that piece of paper deactivates gravity.
3) Why would progressives destroy the Constitution? Its protections are what has led to increased human rights, a PROGRESSIVE issue. It's what keeps your ilk from oppressing everyone else.
