Quote# 83997

We need to stand firmly and unapologetically on the hard truth that homosexuality is not a benign, morally neutral social phenomenon. It is an insidious and contagious form of sexual perversion condemned by God as an abomination. I cringe even writing these words because I know the wrath I am inviting on myself. Still, someone needs to say this boldly and publicly because it is the truth, and only the truth can set us free of the political correctness that has imprisoned us until now. The homosexual agenda represents an existential threat to Christian civilization and we're in the final phase of the war, losing badly. It all hinges upon you, Christian reader. Either get into the game in earnest, immediately, or wave goodbye.

Don't be homosexual then. Is it that hard for you?

See, statements like this warm my heart. Not because they condemn homosexuality as an "insidious and contagious form of sexual perversion", but because they admit that they are LOSING.

Sometimes, my faith in humanity is justified. Not often, I'll grant you, but sometimes.

We need to stand firmly and unapologetically on the hard truth that homosexuality is not a benign, morally neutral social phenomenon.
Ok, then explain why that is the case without using religion or appeals to emotion. If homosexuality is that threatening, then this should be very easy to do.

It is an insidious and contagious form of sexual perversion condemned by God as an abomination.
Then show us some peer-reviewed academic studies that reach the conclusion that homosexuality is an "insidious and contagious form of sexual perversion" instead of trying to hide behind your god by using him as an excuse for your bigotry.

I cringe even writing these words because I know the wrath I am inviting on myself.
Aww, you poor persecuted bigot, not being allowed to spread nasty lies about minorities anymore without your hate speech getting called out for what it is.

Still, someone needs to say this boldly and publicly because it is the truth, and only the truth can set us free of the political correctness that has imprisoned us until now.
Getting your buggy ahead of your horses there, dude. You've yet to even prove that the contents of your hate speech are true. Show, don't tell, Scott. Again, if what you're saying is actually truthful, then this would be trivially easy.

The homosexual agenda represents an existential threat to Christian civilization and we're in the final phase of the war, losing badly.
Your god must be really, really weak if a person's sexual orientation threatens him and his civilization's continued existence.

It all hinges upon you, Christian reader. Either get into the game in earnest, immediately, or wave goodbye.
Yay! *waves* Goodbye, Scotty~

We need to stand firmly and unapologetically on the hard truth that shell-fish eating and blended cloth wearing is not a benign, morally neutral social phenomenon. It is an insidious and contagious form of gastronomical perversion condemned by God as an abomination. I cringe even writing these words because I know the wrath I am inviting on myself. Still, someone needs to say this boldly and publicly because it is the truth, and only the truth can set us free of the political correctness that has imprisoned us until now. Also from the same source as your garbage. You can't pick choose which parts of the babble you want to enforce - it is an all or nothing proposition. If you do, then you have...

Every time I read something like this, I want to replace every time they say "homosexuality" with "shellfish", and it's really fun.

You start to imagine militant protestors outside canneries, supermarkets, and docks, condemning the consumption of shrimp and carrying signs like "Mollusca = Mephistopheles".

only the truth can set us free of the political correctness that has imprisoned us until now.

It's telling that you fuckers think that being politically correct is the same as being imprisoned. Granted, sometimes people take political correctness way too far but to you not being able to thoroughly browbeat everyone that's not in your group is like a prison sentence. You can't stand not being able to intimidate and belittle atheists, Muslims, gays, and Christians of other denominations.

we're in the final phase of the war, losing badly

Good. Nothing will make me happier then when you fuckers finally do lose and become completely irrelevant. Your ilk has been in power for too long and I'm sincerely hoping this latest upswing in fundamentalism in the US is simply your candle flickering violently before it finally goes out.

What the fuck?

-I'm wearing wool/cotton blend socks, and cotton/polyester underwear.
-I eat shrimp.
-My parents were not both from the same "race".
-And I not only touch my girlfreind during her monthly, I sleep beside her, and eat food she has handled.

That is four biblicaly condemned "abominations" that the writers of the bible considered worthy of immediate death.

Contagious? Really? So you're actually afraid that a couple of gay guys living together down the street is going to make you want to suck cock? I know that not all homophobes are secretly-closeted gays, but the ones who are afraid of gays "spreading" gayness have to be afraid of their own secret homosexuality. I can't see any other reason to be afraid of people "turning gay," since people who are comfortable in their heterosexuality aren't afraid of waking up gay some morning.

At least this fundie realizes that he's on the losing side of the war on homosexuality. When most traces of homophobia are finally erased from society and it's no longer morally acceptable, he'll blame it on all those apathetic Christians who failed to "get in the game" and persecute gay people instead of realizing he was on the wrong side of the argument.

If the "homosexual agenda represents an existential threat to Christian civilization", why is the catholic church still going strong? I seem to recall them employing a few gays.

Whenever I hear some fundamentalist whine about "global warming alarmism", I just think about all their terror and moral panic over homosexuality....and I laugh and I laugh. Reality must be very frightening to the fundie mind.

"It is an insidious and contagious form of sexual perversion..."

I've spent a lot of time around gay people. I've even had offers from some of them. I politely declined, and the guys who made the offers were fine with that. They understood that being interested in gay sex isn't something one chooses and isn't something one can catch.

So tell me Scott, am I just immune to the gay "contagion." Not likely according to your logic, seeing as how I'm an atheist. Perhaps I'm just secure in my identification as a heterosexual. You, on the other hand, sound a bit nervous about protecting your identification, almost as if you weren't entirely sure.

"I cringe even writing these words because I know the wrath I am inviting on myself."

For the ten-billionth time, criticising your bigotry and stupidity is not "persecution." It isn't infringing on your First Amendment rights -- your freedom of speech or of religion -- in any way.
And it sure as fuck isn't "wrath."
There's a character in a really popular book who IS all about teh wraths, though. Maybe you've heard of it?

"It is ... contagious"

Ok, I think I see what your problem is. Being gay is not contagious. You're not having those feelings because you've been near gay people.

You're having those feelings because you've got some homosexual leanings. The sooner you admit it to yourself, to sooner you can get on with your life.

Jesus rollerblading Christ, what the fuck is up these people's asses about Gays lately? Is it the repeal of DADT?

I mean, yeah, they usually do attack the gays, but shit. It's all they talk about now.

Oh if only.

Well perhaps homosexuality is wrong. If so, I would have expected God to mention it quite clearly and repeatedly rather than allude to it a couple of times. You know - something more in keeping with the amount of effort idiots seem to spend banging on about it.

Personally, as a Christian (and quite a civilised one to boot) gays being gay doesn't really impact on me at all. It's hard to see how it would.

If it's all the same to you, I'll just carry on not caring what consenting adults get up to in the privacy of their own bedrooms.
