god did no such thing nancy, MEN created this law and said it was in the name of god.
why would god need to design rules that allow such things when he is GOD?
god shouldn't bow to man's actions, if god is god he could just say don't hurt women or i'll smite you.

Why don't you accept the truth Nancy?
The bible was written by men in a patriarchal culture who wanted to justify their control over women.
The surest way that the men could achieve this would be to say "Godsaidso !" I assume that the men created this load of bullshite so that they could be assured that they were raising their own spawn instead of another man's.
Also - it was a source of coinage that fathers could get - dowry, etc.
GAWD had nothing to do with it - except being the Scapegoat in the Sky.

So...being locked up, beaten, raped and mutilated is for their protection is it?
Glad you cleared that up!

From the frozen north, Death cometh
"God's ultimate plan is for His female creation to be under protection throughout their entire lives"
And since no woman can ever be able to stand on her own, Nancy's point is completely valid.
On second thought... What if the woman isn't safe in her own home? What if the problem is an abusive husband/father? I don't think your god thought this thing all the way through...

I can kind of see the logic in this... God made men to be brutal and aggressive rapists ready to attack anything not their own gender (or necessarily species)... so, God in his wisdom came up with the best solution to that problem. Lock up the women.

Book written by men, to be used by men to rule over women.
I mean god damn, is it so hard for religious people to get laid without brainwashing their spouses?
I am apatheist, ugly as all hell and I get to invited into bondage schemes of entirely different kinds, as glorious lord of thine.

If that were true, it wouldn't also be true that the most common perpetrator in the homicide of a woman is her spouse/partner, particularly if she's pregnant by him. Nor would it be true that in countries where women are the most controlled, er, "protected" by men, women are murdered in so-called "honor killings", have their genitals cut off in childhood, are forced to marry their rapists and are refused medical care if the only doctor available is a man, etc., etc.
Clearly, men made up those rules, falsly claiming they came from God, to have power and control over women.
It's time you got a clue.

What the hell are you doing posting this on the internet? Some man might read it and change his mind then you'd be guilty of teaching a man which is a sin! Better to simply stay at home, naked and perpetually pregnant, than to risk pissing off god.

How big of a fit do you think Ms. Campbell would throw if a Muslim woman said the following?
3. Submission is for our protection
Allah did not devise submission to bring wives into bondage. No, it is for our blessing, protection and covering. Allah's ultimate plan is for His female creation to be under protection throughout their entire lives--under their father's protection as a single person and then under their husband's protection when they marry. We see an understanding of this in the Holy Qur'an.
Too fucking easy.

"under their father's protection as a single person"
So what about those women who don't have fathers? The ones who lost their fathers in war, or traffic accidents, or being stoned for wearing clothing blended of two kinds of fibers while eating shrimp while planting two kinds of crops in the same field on a Sunday after trimming their beards?

God didn't do sweet fuck all. The primitive Middle Eastern nomads who wrote the Old Testament put that patriarchal bullshit in there and said it was the Word of God®.
Morons like you accept it without thinking critically about the origins of the book you worship as much as your god.
