Perhaps you should try reading through all of your choice of "the word of God".
To me personally, the biggest problem with any word of God is, how an omnipotent God needs a book publishing deal to talk to his creation yet the Devil can use telepathy. Why can't "He" just compel people towards good deeds just like the devil compels them to evil? And how can God only talk to one person every few hundred years, yet the devil talks to all humanity all through time? It's almost as if the Devil upgraded to gigahertz broadband and God is still on the 14.4k dial-up.
Edit: I guess I was trying to say that the very idea of a printed "word of God", to me, seems like a logical contradiction in itself. *shrug*
Again, a mantra to the flock.
Fundies are to never question the absolute perfection of the Bible, preachers in Evangelical and Southern Baptist churchs will never step back from the "literal truth" stand, never allow for allegory, fable or moral example as other denominations will.
They're the worst for making up shit that isn't in the Bible to boot. Look how fast they accepted "Bible Codes" to explain hows it's Biblical when it's not in the Bible, Righteous reading between the lines bullshit.
Confused?
