Bullshit! slavery was alive and well in the New Testament! There are heaps of 'testimony' in your buy bull stating it. And all those good 'christian' countries that bought and sold people... oh, but don't let me cloud the issue with facts. Could hurt your brain.
10/24/2011 3:57:11 AM
I guess what that servant buisness was all about in old and new testament.
I didn't see any of the churches condemning slavery as is 200 years ago either.
10/24/2011 3:59:07 AM
Exodus 21:16 is prohibiting stealing slaves, not having them in the first place. Jackass.
10/24/2011 4:17:30 AM
I thought the "no slavery" passages in the bible specifically refered to not having jewish slaves? Getting slaves from gentiles was all and well
10/24/2011 4:21:21 AM
There is so much bullshit in what you are writing that i am concerned about your honesty. Are you being paid to do this or do you just get your kicks out of misleading idiots?

"Your male and female slaves are to come
from the nations around you;
from them you may buy slaves."
-- Leviticus 25:44

These Africans were mainly animists, and people were sold to slavery during tribal wars. Slave traders were mainly Europeans and Americans.
Slavery for the ennemies are totally accepted by your beloved Leviticus.
Sorry to break your bubble with raw facts.

Slavery in the Americas is entirely the fault of Muslims
And Christianity is responsible for AIDS. What, why can't I make shit up too?
10/24/2011 6:20:36 AM
No, they were predominantly *not* Muslims. It was Judeo-Christian Europeans and European-Americans who took the pre-existing practice of enslaving captured enemies and made it even worse, turned into an vast institution of inherited misery and death.

We've never had sharia law here in the United States, many Christians throughout our history approved of slavery, and even Jesus told slaves to obey their masters.
10/24/2011 6:38:37 AM
I'm not too sure, but he may have a point on the kidnappers being Muslim, since the African kingdoms were predominantly Muslim, and it was africans that were selling other affricans around.
10/24/2011 6:48:09 AM
Patently you haven't read much of your Bible.
10/24/2011 7:09:40 AM
Ah dear, poor, hard-done-by you with your staunch tolerance of slavery, having to put up with owning slaves for 400 years, it must have been a complete bind.
I'm sure we all feel very sorry for you.

"But sadly, we made our first concession to Sharia law in 1619 instead of being guided by the wisdom of Scripture"
'Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect'
'In no instance have... the churches been guardians of the liberties of the people'
'There is more need for lighthouses in our country than churches.'
'But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.'
'Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man'
'Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear.'
'I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology.'
'When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.'
I love the smell of arguments blasted out of the space-time continuum in the morning. Smells like... victory.

Tune in tomorrow for our next Revising History for Projection Seminar: Witch Trials: Now entirely the fault of fanatic religious secularists! We all know the secularist holy book contains the phrase "Thall shalt not suffer a witch to live". Learn of how the secularists teamed up with the smart and outspoken women in using this verse to justify burning the poor religious fundamentalists at the stake as 'witches'.

Actually, the first blacks in the Americas were Indentured servants like most of the poor that came there. One of them even became the richest man in his town after he worked off his debt and became a free man. It wasn't until a little after that when things were changed and the rights of blacks were stripped.
10/24/2011 7:47:40 AM
Yes, because all the fire-eaters, original Confederates, and neo-Confederates were Muslims... keep telling yourself that, Fischer.
10/24/2011 8:11:26 AM
Im wondering how much bullshit can spew out of a christians mouth before someone brings out the stones.......
10/24/2011 8:34:13 AM
As we all know, the Chinese and native slaves who the Americans also made use of were also brought to the New World via the exact same route as the African slaves. Though I sort of wonder why so many North American natives and Asians went all the way to Africa in the first place if they wound up getting captured by filthy Muslims right from the get-go.

"Now, in contrast to Islam and Sharia, the Judeo-Christian tradition from day one has been adamantly opposed to the slave trade ... Moses flatly prohibited the slave trade under penalty of death."
Jesus disagreed... are you sure you're a Christian? (btw, Moses was talking about stealing a fellow Jew... anyone else was fair game. Try reading your Bible sometime)
10/24/2011 10:06:20 AM
"I thought the "no slavery" passages in the bible specifically refered to not having jewish slaves? Getting slaves from gentiles was all and well"
As I remember it, the Bible actually allows slavery between Jews, it simply stipulates that unlike a Gentile slave, a Jewish slave can't be kept forever and has to be set free after a given amount of time (seven years, IIRC). And then the Bible outlines a loophole that allows to blackmail a slave into begging to remain a slave for the rest of his life...
10/24/2011 10:10:27 AM
Moses never existed and the rest of your word salad needs some cracked pepper and Roquefort.
10/24/2011 10:21:59 AM
Sharia is not going to be legislated in the United States for the same reason the Ten Commandments isn't legislated. Article 1 of Bill of Rights. See, suddenly separation of church and state isn't a bad thing when it's protecting your religion.

Muslims are also responsible for:
- the Salem witch trials
- the Thirty Years War
- the Pilgrims leaving England
- the Spanish Inquisition
- the Waco, Teax incident
- Anne Boleyn's execution
Yup, Muslims, those rascals.
So, let's thank Abraham Lincoln for freeing all those Confederates from Islamic oppression. I'm sure the Deep South rednecks feel the same way.
