Quote# 84440

There are literally thousands of examples of ancient art showing man lived with dinosaurs. There is art from Babylonia showing what we used to call a Brontosaurus, I forget the modern name. This is very likely the Behemoth described in Job with a tail like a cedar tree that drank up rivers. Job also described the Leviathan, that sounds like some tremendous sea creature. Most scholars believe Job the oldest book in the Bible because of his long lifespan (Job 42:16). It is probable Job lived well over 200 years and lived not long after the flood.

But all over the world there is ancient artwork and literature about huge dragons that once roamed the earth, many killed by man himself. There have been found the footprints of man and dinosaurs found preserved together in several different locations.

Google "Ica Stones" to see photos of thousands of ancient stones found in South America with detailed carvings of dinosaurs, even showing that some were tamed and ridden by man!

So, there is much evidence, even in the Bible that man lived with dinosaurs.

If I believed art always reflected reality, I'd believe in a bipedal elephant with 4 arms riding on a rat or blonde men with wings playing harps in the clouds. I understand that knowing the difference between reality and fantasy is almost impossible for a fundie, but the rest of the world can do it. You should try to keep up.

"This is very likely the Behemoth described in Job with a tail like a cedar tree that drank up rivers."

Job 40:15-18, "Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron."

According to the KJV, behemoth had a navel, hence must be a placental mammal, not an oviparous dinosaur.

Most scholars believe Job the oldest book in the Bible because of his long lifespan (Job 42:16).

Really, then why is Job written in a post-exile Hebrew dialect that is heavily influenced by Aramaic, making it one of the younger books?

Oh wait, I forgot, you can't know that because you only read the Bible in God's own KJV.

Why don't the fundies bother learning Biblical Hebrew? It's not really very difficult.::::

Just because something was written in a language contemporary with other writings in the Tanakh doesn't mean Job isn't the oldest book in the Hebrew Fairy Tale.

Based on certain thing that are and AREN'T in Job, scholars know the book is from the patriarchal or pre-patriarchal era. For instance, Job still makes sacrifices himself, rather than having the priests do it. That is definitely pre-Torah.
