Quote# 84507

Again, I do not know why Oct 21 appears to have failed, but my REST and HOPE is still in the Lord.

We are living in very interesting days, the fulfillment of the Bible itself.

The Rapture will occur in only a BLINK of an Eye so God can bring about the Rapture at the very last moment.

I wish I knew why God tarried on Oct 21 but perhaps others are correct that the Rapture will take place tonight, or even tomorrow, Sunday.

But even if nothing happens tonight, or tomorrow, the Lord is still my strength. Everything I learned I still hold to because they are the TRUTH!

Like I said, we are living in very interesting times.

May the Lord's perfect will be done!

In case you didn't think Christianity is an end-times cult...

... and then Christians think the Australian Aboriginal concept of the Dreamtime is primative and silly ...

Appears to have failed? Are you saying that it might have happened and you were left behind?

Or is it just that you're just plain wrong?

I think the latter

10/29/2011 2:19:47 PM

I'm not convinced that people who are this far gone are really sentient anymore. They've given their ability to make decisions away and refuse to take it back.

This shit again? Please, there has been so many predictions that i have lost track of them.

This goes beyond the fact that the Bible says that no one can predict when the Rapture will happen. It's that the Rapture isn't described in the Bible at all. The Rapture is never going to happen because it's unfounded both in reality and in the Bible.

It failed because you are a dumbass and so is Camping.

This is sadly one of the techniques religion uses to hook people.

"Any day now, the end will come."

Very interesting that a dolt can hold out even when the failed prediction shook his faith.

I sincerely hope that the rapture comes in your lifetime and if not you will go to God when you die in the certainty of salvation.

Again, I do not know why Oct 21 appears to have failed, but my REST and HOPE is still in the Lord.

It failed because Camping is full of shit. This is what, the 3rd or 4th time he's predicted the rapture? What kind of nutjob still buys into is bullshit when prediction after predition proves false?

We are living in very interesting days, the fulfillment of the Bible itself.

Really now? What biblical prediction points specifically to the modern era, and by that I don't mean vague statements like "teir will be wars and rumours of war" that can apply to every single moment of human history.

The Rapture will occur in only a BLINK of an Eye so God can bring about the Rapture at the very last moment.

And yet it never does, even though every generation of christians claim that they are the ones in the last days and the end will come in their lifetime

I wish I knew why God tarried on Oct 21 but perhaps others are correct that the Rapture will take place tonight, or even tomorrow, Sunday.

Oh, so it's god's fault it didn't happen. It couldn't possibly be that Camping just made the date up... again.

If you've held out this long, I can't imagine you'd be dissuaded this time.

I do remember a line in there somewhere about no man knowing the day or the hour.

As helpful advice, if you don't fall for the false prophets so often, you won't be disappointed every time they're bullshit.

Yeah, Aum Shinrikyo said the same thing when their doomsday prediction failed again. I'm glad you don't use sarin gas.

How often does your god have to lie to you before you get the idea that he's an asshole?

"the end will come."

Well, it is possible to have an orgasm via anal, so...!

And that's where the likes of Harold Camping gets his predictions from too. Just keep kissing that wrinkled ringpiece of his, TrueFailure. >:D

As far as Christian Eschatology is concerned, the Preterite/Partial-Preterite/Amillenialist/Edgar Cayce theories make the most sense to me. Jesus "Mount Of Olives" discourse was about what would happen in 70 CE.

It's all about Metaphor, Analogy, Symbolism & Mythological Language.

Think, Carl Gustaf Jung, Joseph Campbell, etc.

And to these Camping/Russel/Great Disappointment/Doomsday goobers, give up, already. The "Rapture" was something made up a couple hundred years ago & the Bible CLEARLY states "No one knows the day or hour....".

So please kindly shut up to you and your ilk, TrueBeliever.

Oct. 21 didn't "fail." It came and went like any other day, being that that's what days -- a human construct to describe a roughly 24-hour period -- do. Days don't fail or succeed or eat pizza. They really don't do much of anything. ...
Christian fundies, on the other hand, are quite successful at failing, or failing to succeed. Their predictions have always been wrong and always will be wrong.

As far as Christian Eschatology is concerned

And as far as the Mother Goose accident report is concerned, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

Actually I prefer Mother Goose eschatology over Christian eschatology: "And they all lived happily ever after."

But in the end, they're both fairy tales.

What happens when a person is proved to be demonstratably wrong about something?

Scientist: I was wrong and I will change my views accordingly.

Theist: I'm not wrong, you're all wrong! Just you watch! One day when I'm proved right you'll all wish you were me as you burn alive forever! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
