And what would that "Western CHristian Republic" be? England? Because the founding fathers never intended for America to be a Christian nation.

The fact that shit like this even gets airtime is a sad indictment of America.

Y'know, if it wasn't for losers like Patty-boy, here, Africa wouldn't be such a mess. Africa, long ago was actually a pretty neat place with many great civilizations & cultures. Africa at it's best is a wonderful source of...among other things...magnificent arts, music, dance, natural resources, earth-based spirituality & natural splendor. It is also the cradle of humanity. So tragic what happened to that continent.

Kevin KlawitterThis reminds me of an article I'm analyzing for my Political Science class. It was written in 1997 and devoted to beamoning the loss of American "national identity" following the end of the Cold War, under the belief that there is no National American Identity unless Americans have an enemy they can rally against. The author actually says that multiculturalism damages America essentially because it forces them to give a fuck about other nations of the world. He also seems disturbingly nostalgic about the era of the Cold War.
It's called "The Erosion of American National Interests". It's pretty hilariously/disturbingly dated, but still worth reading in its own way.

They are trying to transform a Western Christian republic into an egalitarian democracy
Oh I keep forgetting you old, senile men think that that's a bad thing.
Also, no, we were never a "christian" republic.

If only our intellectual, cultural, and political elites actually spent their time on anything that worthwhile.

Kudos to them, I hope they succeed. It sounds like a good plan.
Which Western Christian republic are we talking about? Italy? Maybe France?
It can't be the US, as it has been made up of "all the tribes, races, creeds and cultures of Planet Earth" from day one, and has never had a State Religion.
If it didn't say "republic" it could be Sweden; we've recently dethroned our God, as in removed the State Church.
Btw, aren't most republics democracies?

Good for you, America. Now that you're on a roll, is there any chance that you will find a Republican presidential candidate with half a brain and no belief in fairies?
Oh well, maybe it's a few millennia too soon for that particular leap forward.

According to the CIA World Factbook, the USA is a "Constitution-based federal republic; strong democratic tradition". There's nothing in the Government section about religion.
I think an egalitarian, all-inclusive democracy is a pretty fucking spiffy idea, myself.

Actually that experiment started over 200 years ago when this country was founded. That's what this country is, or at least was.

First off, not a Christian Republic, at least not yet, second off, how is this bad exactly? And last time I checked, only Jews and Christians follow Judeo-Christian 'morals'. The rest of us just follow morals.
