"The faith of Camping's most ardent followers was not swayed by the recent news."
Fool people once; fool people twice, and all that jazz. The 'Campers' have clearly never heard of the story of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".
"According to Fred Store, a longtime Family Radio listener, the general belief is "Judgment Day did in fact occur on May 21."
So why, I wonder - unlike post-21st May when Family Radio was reduced to playing religious music and repeats of their flagship programme "Open Forum" - post-21st October, there hasn't been anything on their usual shortwave frequency 9.61 MHz, at the usual broadcast time. Nothing. Nada. Nichts. Zip. Zilch. Bupkas. Bugger All. Big. Fat. Zero...?!
Why, it's as if... God doesn't exist, the Bible is only fit for wiping one's arse on (and my bum can speak from experience! >:D ), and Harold Camping is nothing more than a huckster, fraud, fake, charlatan, snake-oil salesman, you name it.
To borrow from the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition:
109: 'Faith' and an empty sack is worth the sack.
If only Harold & co. could have the same given to them eh, Campers...? [/Doug Piranha-levels of sarcasm]
@Murdin
Apple? I thought it was a pipe. [/Rene Magritte] X3
Especially considering this quote from the film "Cannonball Run" (emphasis added):
J.J. McClure (Burt Reynolds): 'What's Dr. Gay do?'
Victor Prinsi Dom DeLuise): 'He's my shrink. He was committed yesterday.'
J.J. McC: 'Why?'
VP: 'He was smoking bananas. He gets very upset when he talks to 'Him'*.'
*- Referring to Victor's alter ego, 'Captain Chaos'
