39a. Abortion has left terrible holes in our society.
What holes? With 7,000,000,000 people on the planet now, I don't think we're really missing the babies who would have been born. And you'll never miss someone who's never been born anyway.
39b. Abortion has made us a nation of schizophrenics about our children.
I have absolutely no idea what this means. Schizophrenia is a medical condition, you don't catch it because other people are having abortions. Or maybe it's just you religious people who are hearing voices in your heads.
39c. Abortion is a modern holocaust we are accomplices to, and which is breeding unparalleled violence.
Godwin! What unparalleled violence is it breeding? Violent crime is down now compared to past years. Or are you talking about G.W. Bush's wars in the Middle East?
39d. Abortion is taking us in a direction from which we might never return.
If you mean allowing women to be in control of their reproductive choices and avoiding dangerous pregnancies, then I'm all for it. Much better than going the other direction toward coat hanger procedures and back alley abortions.
39e. Abortion has ushered in the brave new world of human pesticides.
I assume you're talking about birth control or the day after pill. Isn't modern technology great? At any rate, it's the woman's choice.
39f. Abortion has led us into complete moral subjectivism in which we are prone to justify as ethical whatever it is we want to do.
Slippery slope. And don't tell me that Christians already don't do this, because on the one hand they say "Thou shalt not kill" but on the other hand, they claim that anyone who doesn't support wars in the Middle East as un-American.
