Quote# 84872

The stay-at-home-daughters movement, which is promoted by Vision Forum, encourages young girls and single women to forgo college and outside employment in favor of training as “keepers at home” until they marry. Young women pursuing their own ambitions and goals are viewed as selfish and antifamily; marriage is not a choice or one piece of a larger life plan, but the ultimate goal. Stay-at-home daughters spend their days learning “advanced homemaking” skills, such as cooking and sewing, and other skills that at one time were a necessity -- knitting, crocheting, soap- and candle-making. A father is considered his daughter’s authority until he transfers control to her husband.

“ Daughters can’t just go out ?independently and say, ‘I’m going to marry whoever I want.’ No. The father has ?the ability to say, ‘No, I’m sorry, that has to be approved by me.’”

Anmd if a stranger knocks on Doug's door, will he hand out his daughters for the sexual solace of the stranger?

If not, wny not? It's the Biblical thing to do. The stranger might even say "Thanks, a Lot."

As someone who suffers from depression and loathes the idea of working for a living since I can't do shit anyone would pay me for, I think I would like this.

No responsibilities besides cooking, cleaning, and wiping a baby's ass.

But that's just me.

So, if you can't find husbands for your daughters will you expect them to get you drunk and use you to father their children, like Lot's daughters' did?

And sandwich making! You forgot sandwich making.

A father is considered his daughter’s authority until he transfers control to her husband.

The Duggars of "19 20 kids and counting" fame believe this. I just happened to catch that show when their oldest son got married, and his father-in-law said this very thing to the camera. It's one of the sickest things I've heard anyone say, and I have no idea why any woman would willingly follow these beliefs other than being brainwashed from birth to live this way.

@Doubting Thomas: At No Longer Quivering, a lot of ex-Quiverfull women explain just why they ended up in this horrible movement. Sometimes, they're lured in with promises that they'll have the perfect life and family because they're living how God wants them to.
