Turkeys that are halal certified -- who wants that
Damn right! Kill that sucker the American way: put it on the electric chair for God's sake!
Or give it smallpox blankets, or just waterboard it to death.
Dead isn't enough, it has to be Christian conservative "American dead". That's what freedom's all about.

So...in celebrating inclusiveness we must exclude meat slaughtered according to Islamic rules?

I know there is a Bible verse that did not condemn eating meat prepared by other religious practices. I think that would be pertinent here.

Do they make halal gravy to go with that halal turkey?
Seriously, Pammy, eat some fucking pork if you're so worried about halal stuff.

Personally, I wouldn't want a Halal turkey if I could avoid it either, because I think the practice unnecessarily cruel, in spite of protestations that it is the most humane method of slaughter. It might well have been back in the day, but the day was a long, long time ago.
But I know these people are getting upset not because of that, but because their meat has had the wrong magical incantations said over it. My mind is full of wat that anyone could care.

We don't celebrate "thanksgiving" as such in the UK but perhaps we should give thanks for ridding ourselves of a boatload of killjoys.

Thanksgiving represents the early part of the rape of North America's native cultures.
It also represents excessive gorging and family togetherness.
Hey, I calls 'em like I sees 'em.

Wow our friends at American Thinker are really pulling the curtain back here and what Pam is revealing is quite disturbing. I now totally give a fucking shit that my turkey may or may not have been slaughtered in accordance with the rules and regulations of a slightly different sky man from the leading brand in North America.
Oh yeah and who could forget how "our" God symbolizes individual liberty and unfettered free market capitalism and the right to bear arms and blah blah blah.

1st Corinthians 8-4:
So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”)
This woman, (and I recall Bryan Fischer saying something similar) is woefully ignorant of what her own bible says. How embarrassing when, me, an atheist, is more knowledgeable?

Replace "halal" with "kosher" and "Islamic" with "Jewish," and the bigoted stupidity becomes hilariously obvious.
Also, the only difference between halal food preparation and kosher food preparation is the specific prayer that is said. That's it.

First of all, why do you care? A turkey is a turkey. It's not going to taste different, and you wouldn't go to hell for eating halal/kosher food. Hell, for the sake of redundancy, it might even spare your ass if it turns out Judaism/Islam is the one religion.
Second, slaughterhouses would NOT slaughter all meat halal style. It's done without anaesthetic and requires a prayer to be said before severing the neck arteries. That is inefficiency that American companies usually do not want for a product this isn't meant to be halal in the first place.

Thanksgiving is not about giving thanks for our freedom, or for capitalism, or the NRA or the GOP.
WTF were you doing in kindergarten when the rest of the class was learning the story?

LAzy bitch, too indolent to raise, kill and clean her own bird, (if she was so worried)!

so the turkey bowed toward meca before someone cut off its head. Thats fine. From this distance meca and jeruselem are much the same direction.
Why would the Christian/Jewish/Islamic god have a problem with meat from one of the other branches he has going. ?

From the frozen north, Death cometh
Setting aside the fact that I'm against halal (and kosher for that matter) method of slaughtering. I doubt Geller is opposing halal because it's a cruel way to produce meat, but solely because it's "the moselmen"-way.
Also, I can't ignore the irony when she says:"... especially on a day on which we are giving thanks to G-d for our freedom? [] Halal turkey, slaughtered according to the rules of Islamic law, is just the opposite of what Thanksgiving represents: freedom and inclusiveness" So it's a holiday dedicated to giving thanks to your god and your god only, but other people are being inclusive? And what does the method of slaughter have to do with "freedom"?
