Quote# 85193

Signs that CIA is behind latest social unrest in Russia, after the parliamentary election, are getting more evident. First off, how come Hillary Clinton could possibly know that it was rigged, unless the US government has COINTEL operatives right now in Russia?? Second, the flash anti-Putin protests are quickly being organized through FaCIAbook, with the exact same patterns of the domino-effect riots of the "Arab Spring"

It doesn't take any Einstein to figure out that the flawless timing between the riots in Moscow and the comments of Hillary Clinton, is no coincidence. Though I'm not sure if Medvedev is staging an aggressive response, as far as Putin opposites his progressive style.

Wow, in 2 or 3 years Facebook did more to overthrow or destabilize governments than the entire CIA/NSA field apparatus in the last 30 years.

She knew and condemned, by the way, with the same method everybody eventually did. Because there are correspondents in Moscow.

Doubting Thomas

It doesn't take a genius to know about rigged elections.

And yes, Facebook and other social media has done a lot to bring about political change, but not for the reasons you think.

Your first fail comes in your first example, the understanding of what COINTEL, ir counter-intelligence, is. Counter-intelligence operations are set up to defeat foreign operatives on your own soil; so by definition the CIA would have INTELLIGENCE operations, while the Russians would have the counter-intelligence. In other words, intel is the offensive side, cointel is the defense. The roles would be reversed in the US, although in the US the FBI runs cointel operations.

Can't take anything seriously from someone who doesn't know something this basic.

CIA spies? In Russia? And you think that this is something new, and top secret? You sir are the worst conspiracy theorist ever.

Does this guy work for Vladamir Putin?

Somehow, this sounds like all the yellowest journalism I ever heard on Russia Today.

This is just lazy. Do you even know how CIA works in the first place?

People can't do stuff on their own! Quick, find someone to blame!

So now you need Facebook for domino effect uprisings?

Clearly this person has never heard about the 1848 or 1989 revolutions.

I assume that the poster had heard of COINTELPRO, which was the FBI's program to infiltrate "subversive" groups during the 60s, dropped the PRO, mixed FBI up with the CIA (which is common in conspiracy theories - the orgs get blended together), and then decided that any attempt to infiltrate a group is COINTEL.
