@MK
Or even making holography obsolete, via transmitters directly tapping into the viewers' neural system - or putting them in the action, "Star Trek"-esque Holodecks (Marines or Na'Vi. Choose your side!)
But all Mary's projection is merely a membrane-thin shield to try and deflect one simple fact: her own religion isn't as pure as the driven snow itself.
For starters, centuries ago, the Roman Catholic church had absolute control over most of Europe. Absolute. It could manipulate kings (and thus territories & their resources), to say nothing of terrorise their people; it's not as if they had a choice in the matter, re. beliefs.
If anyone so much as even thought about venturing forth boldly into the existential mystery of being alone, facing with stoicism the nothingness that awaited them at death, priding themselves on their realism and self-reliance, they'd be left to the tender mercies of the Inquisition.
Yeah. That's 'Free Will' in action, eh Mary? That country you live in, where you say 'Go start your own damn country. This one was started by Christians, you puerile dimwits' to 'outsiders'. The basis of such being the US Constitution, which makes absolutely no reference to 'God', 'Jesus' or even 'Creator' therein. There's an extremely good reason why the Founding Fathers made very sure there weren't - and you're it, Mary.
What you talk about is nothing less than a Iran & Saudi Arabia-esque Theocracy. Seems that said Founding Fathers had great foresight when they came up with the Treaty of Tripoli, eh?! Even if some of them were Christians, they knew the value of Rule of Law to keep religious power in check. Why, it's as if they wanted future generations of Americans to be armed with the weapons needed to ensure that the country - the free one - they started, would never be allowed to become a Theocracy. By the use of legislation that - via precedents - would give people the power to keep said country Free. Certainly of religious control.
Like I say: if the US is as Christian as you claim, show me in it's foundation - the legal document - the US Constitution, where the words 'God', 'Jesus' and 'Creator' appear. Only when you can, will your argument have any credibility whatsoever.
It's okay, I can wait, Mary...! >:D
And another thing: two words: Paedophile Priests. Your argument is not only invalid, you don't even have the right to so much as contemplate the notion of even thinking that you have the right to have an 'opinion' on what anyone else says, does or thinks on any issue whatsoever. When your own religion can't keep it's own house in order - when in the case of, say, a paedophile teacher in a state school, you would be the first outside said teacher's house with a pitchfork, screaming 'KILL THE NONCE!', nay, calling for the education authority itself - for hiring said teacher in the first place - to be taken to court.
...yeah. You heard, Mary: Taken to Court. Aye, there's the rub, indeed...!
Moral: The phrase 'Put your own house in order'. It exists for a reason. Also the words 'Motes and Beams'. You, nor Ratzy the Nazi, are in no position to criticise the actions - legal or otherwise - of others, when they have the Giant Sequoia of hypocrisy in their own eyes. This whole 'Paedophile Priests' thing came to light way before Ratzy became Pope. Guess what position he held before his election: head of the 'Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith'. The modern, cuddly, user-friendly term for the Inquisition. Thus - as Pope today - it's impossible for him to say he knew nothing about said paedo priests. As he was probably the one who ordered the 'sweeping under the carpet', nay, hushing up of the whole sordid affair. When did he make these crimes subject to the Rule of Law, having such priests arrested & tried, as per Due Process. As a moral person would?
And where were you, Mary, when this whole thing was revealed, hmmmmmmmm?! Rushing straight to the nearest police station to press charges against these priests, for their crime that is worse than a sin, eh? Or merely keeping your own trap shut, for fear of beimg excommunicated if you blew the whistle on them, Mary?
In the words of the $cientologists: 'What are YOUR Crimes?'
No, Mary, you are the whiny, snivelling, little, pusillanimous cowards.
And then Mary was weak.
See you in court.
