Wow, you'll believe any old thing people say when promoting their films, won't you?
You must be a dream for advertizing companies, the perfect customer. They say it, you believe it and go out and buy it.
Come on, get a life.

Of course, there is absolutely no evidence of any malevolent spirits possessing people...

But these same people sure loved the acting in "The Passion of the Christ" ...
directed by their christian hero Mel Gibson,
who's often possessed by the spirits of six martinis with tequila chasers.

Yeah, these actors couldn't possibly be speaking figuratively or using hyperbole, noooo, everything they say is literal truth...

The phenomenon isn't entirely fictitious, but I deny it's demonic and I deny it's possession. While writing novels and screenscripts, I have, like many writers, had characters "come to life", evince traits I hadn't known were in them, do things I didn't expect them to do, and send things in an unknown but inexorable direction - all with a singular internal consistency. Perhaps it's what Victorians used to call unconscious cerebration. In all events, it happens, and no, you don't go to Hell for it. It's a part of the creative process every artist devoutly hopes for.

Actors are evil? No, actors are vain, shallow, and self-obsessed, and they talk bullshit.

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal.
"Few people realize the dark spiritual side of acting going all the way back to the Greek theater."
The Church in the Dark Ages reviled theatre because it was competing for the disposable income of the audience, and it made the Mass look like what it was - A SHOW.
Imagination: it's wonderful as long as you don't confuse it with reality.

I don't care if they strip naked and bark at the moon, doesn't mean that there really are any dark magic powers.
But frankly, I think you're reading way too much into what those actors said, even if that's a true recount of their statements. For example, "taking a demon ride" doesn't necessarily mean that one gets into a car and goes on a road trip with Beelzebub.

Shirley McClain is an old fraud with all that channeling bullshit. The others were "taking the piss" as it were.
You fell for it, which reenforces my belief that fundamentalist Christians have broken bullshit meters, making them vulnerable to all manner of scams.

Stage personas do not work that way.
I spend a lot of time with actors both around and away from theater, as part of my study, and because of friendships. Haven't seen a scrap of evidence for this shit yet.

It's true. I've spent the past two evenings recording for a fan-produced Doctor Who audio play, and now I'm a Time Lord.

Riiiight, he said as he backed away and desperately searched for a rock or large stick.
How can anyone, in the 21st century, buy into this sort of superstitious horseshit?
