Fuck you AC101202. You are a misogynist and an insult to males
12/20/2011 1:04:59 PM
I recently saw a woman at an intersection start to walk across the street before the blinking light said she could. So, yeah, things are getting out of hand.

This reminds me of the rant earlier this year by a homophobic gamer who was shocked and terrified that a fictional male character in a game might have tried to hit on his male fictional character.
A majority that's had its way for so long without recognizing the inequity of the situation is found that they have to give a little bit of leeway to other people, and are freaking the fuck over it.

WWWWolf: "Species that rely on sexual reproduction tend to get around 50/50 split, with females slightly more common."
It depends on what age group you're talking about. Human sex ratio is skewed slightly towards males at birth (assuming no sex selection), probably to account for the fact that males have a lower average life expectancy (which I'm sure guys like AC101202 would somehow like to spin as being women's fault).
It's usually when you start factoring in all the old women out there that the overall ratio starts leaning towards women. The US' 15-64 ratio is almost exactly 1:1, and it appears that roughly half the world's countries have a >1:1 15-64 M/F ratio while the others have a <1:1 ratio. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_sex_ratio
But yeah, this is hardly a new phenomenon, nor does it mean that women control the world.
And I definitely vote for a Sexists section of the site.

We need a sexism category to put these posts in, because I felt I had to vote "meh", not because this person isn't an idiot, but because religion is not mentioned anywhere in the post and this is supposed to be about that one specific form of idiot called a fundie. Maybe this person is a fundie, but THIS post doesn't say anything about it if that's the case.

- Feelings are more important than fact
Since this post involved a lot of crying and a lot of raging and very little facts, I must deduce that, by your own standards, you consider yourself a woman.
12/20/2011 3:45:35 PM
So men will have to struggle with adversity. Shame, women have been doing this for, well, forever.
12/20/2011 4:01:52 PM
"Effectively we live in a gynocracy, a democratic matriarchy"
How does he reconcile these two beliefs?
1. Women are inferior and irrational.
2. Women rule the world and have all the power.
How the hell did we take over the world if we're so dumb? MGTOW contradict themselves all the time.
12/20/2011 4:33:05 PM
Political correctness IS common sense, smart one.
12/20/2011 5:00:39 PM
You know, I even agree with most of your dot points there, but what the fuck has any of this got to do with women in power?
12/20/2011 6:00:54 PM
Take it like a man.
12/20/2011 6:10:49 PM
So, tell me about your mother.
12/20/2011 9:42:47 PM
Blah blah blah, no woman will have sex with me, blah blah blahdy blah blah.
12/20/2011 9:48:53 PM
I'd suggest the addition of a 'Misogynists say the Darndest Things' section, but then again David Futrelle/Man Boobz already has that one sewn up.
12/21/2011 12:13:31 AM
Translation: "I'm fat and ugly and women don't want to suck my cock. That must be the women's fault!"

Japan is far less feminist than most western countries. The phenomena you listed are due to aging population, economic stagnation and low fertility. My own country, Italy - also not big on women's rights - has much of the same, for the same reasons.
Women in many countries surprisingly often vote for moderate/conservative parties, which definitely do not sponsor further emancipation.
Despite young women being slightly better educated than young men, they are sistematically and demonstrably overlooked in job recruiting and promotions. Most countries' system of working hours, labour regulations and maternity leave are based on the assumption that men work and women stay home, and makes it easier to do so.
Management, qualified professions and high level public administration are all dominated by men.
So is the parliament and the government, as are most political parties at any level.
Women - sadly - do not collectively pursue the political upholding of their rights.
Your personal list of grievances has nothing to do with women vs men - it's more like a conservative shopping list of complaints, plus your own.
In other words, you have had a privileged life, and still have it. Stop whining and take it like a man.

You need to look up the terms "community property" and "no-fault-divorce", and then try to tell that bullshit, which is a myth that rarely applies to any but wealthy women, to my mother, who, after 26 years of marriage, during which my father threatened to throw her out if she dared try to work outside the home, found herself dumped for a woman 20 years younger.
The court awarded her only 6 months spousal support, in which time she was expected, in her late 50s with no car (in CA), to magically find someone who would hire her. She had just over a year in the house until the last kid turned 18, at which time not only was the house ordered to be sold with the proceeds divided equally between them, she had to pay my father fucking RENT out of her half to cover the time she lived there for the benefit of the kid. And custody was joint.
She, like so many poor and middle class women after divorce from a long marriage, died in a puddle of tears and worry about where her next meal would come from.

And then people wonder why young men aren't up to much these days...
In which case women will march right over them to take over the jobs they have abandoned. And nobody will give a shit except crybabies like you.

-I've known men to be more pushy about their own petty political correctnesses(of all stripes), especially conservative men.
-Many females in my life would beg to differ. I've heard many a woman complain about too much "red tape".
"Feelings are more important than fact"
-Tell that to all the smartest(and often hottest) women I know at college who just can't stop talking about their favorite subjects even at the expense of boring their boyfriends to death with their "facts".
-Clothes are tools.
"Rewarding the group is more important than rewarding the individual"
-Things tend to fall apart unless credit is given where credit is due and that means rewarding(or penalizing if appropriate) BOTH the group and the individual, though not always in the exact same way.
-"best man" eh...That phrase alone shows a hefty amount of bias in favor of deciding that the "best man" is indeed a man. Sometimes the "best man" is a woman.
-Everytime the government spends even a penny, guess what...it's *gasp* *oh, horrors!* redistributing wealth! And when you personally spend even a penny, guess what you too are "redistributing wealth". The only way to avoid redistributing wealth would be if everyone stopped exchanging things at all, and then we'd all be statues instead of people.

I admit, I may have been hired at least in part because I'm female; the company had a 30 to 1 ratio of men to women. However it may also be that some men gave up when I showed up for the last interview. I don't know, but I am more than competent at my job. I try not to think of it too deeply.
12/21/2011 11:10:07 AM
And it all goes wrong in the very first sentence...
2 seconds on wikipedia showed me that women do NOT make up 52% of USian society (I'm assuming he's USian). The split is actually 49.3% male and 50.7% female. At the low end of the spectrum, males dominate due to the larger number of male babies born. At the high end of the spectrum (especially over 80yo), females dominate due to the lower life expectancy for males.
And LOL at the idea that having a slight majority guarantees a group's dominance in society. Did you know that blacks make up 79% of South African society, and whites only 9%? Clearly, those whites must always have been oppressed!
12/21/2011 12:22:55 PM
... women get the children, the house and a lifelong meal ticket with every divorce, preferential hiring quotas and treatment at work and school, same salaries as males for much less work and earlier retirement.
Women don't get the same salaries as males for much less work and earlier retirement. Earlier retirement for women has been illegal in the US since 1974. A woman only gets 1/2 the community property and compensation for giving up something else in the past (e.g., agreeing to leave her job and stay home with the kids).
12/21/2011 5:43:48 PM
Yeah...I'm gonna need a fuckton of citations. I'm so tired of assholes who blame women for everything - get over it, you fucking 12 year old.

I want to take a quick second to dispel something here:
While it may be possible that MGTOW are a bunch of fat/ugly/gross people who are rarely laid, it is more likely these men are the ones you see in bars and clubs, pick-up artists with "strategies" and tricks to get women to sleep with them.
The misogynists who believe this kind of crap are often very commonly this kind of man who feels that women are "stupid sluts" for sleeping with them (these men often have low self-esteem) but also feels hatred for feminism due to their experiences in relationships and (if they're older) marriage.
Misogyny and patriarchy are malicious forces in our society not confined to basement dwellers, the men who hold these beliefs are out there every day. They are the bro's as well, the self-styled Barney Stinson's, Glenn Quagmires and what-not. Office workers as well as blue collars. I've often been startled speaking to people, reading studies, and anecdotes from women about how vitriolically sexist some men, whom you wouldn't think they would be, are.
The stereotype of the basement dwelling virgin misogynist only protects the others.
12/22/2011 4:18:14 AM
Wow! The logic here is so circular, it's almost a perfect sphere!
Also: women are in charge, but have way less political power than men? You can't have it both ways.
PS: Women are paid less than men for the same job, aren't favored for earlier retirement, and you clearly don't understand divorce. Alimony/child-support comes from whoever the provider is (which can be the wife).
