Vegans. One word: Fruitarians:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruitarianism
Several years ago, there was a series on extreme lifestyles on Channel 4 here in the UK. One episode detailed the life of one particular Fruitarian who took such one stage further: He only are fruit that had fallen off the branch/vine naturally, and not picked from such.
I love the smell of barbecued arguments in the morning. Smells like... 'Mmmmmm... Meat!' [/Homer Simpson] X3
Y'know, speaking as an Atheist, I'm gonna go out to my local Asda, buy a packet of bacon, then come home, put several rashers under the grill, then while they're a-sizzlin' away, butter some slices of white bread, then put said bacon on said bread, put a dollop or three of tomato sauce on such, then indulge myself in the ultimate treat for we carnivores - and the ultimate torture (olfactory-wise) for anyone else...:

...the Bacon Sarnie. And there's not one fucking thing that anyone can do about it.
Deal with it, Vegans. Atheism. It means being able to read, watch/not watch, wear, say, do (PROTIP: The Golden Rule, and all that jazz), think and above all, eat what I like, because nobody - least of all religion(s) - has the right to tell us what to do*
One word: Choice. Some choose to be Vegans. I choose to be a Carnivore (technically an Omnivore, as I love fruit & veg too). Rats are Omnivores. As are Chimpanzees. We humans (Homo Sapiens) share at least 98% of our DNA with Chimpanzees (Pan Troglodytes).
Thought for the day: I'll become a Vegan, when you lot can persuade all the lions, leopards, tigers etc in the world to eat nut loaf, without you becoming the main course for said carnivore. The phrase 'I didn't claw my way up to the top of the food chain, just to eat celery!'. It exists for a reason.
Oh, and one more thing:

Ever seen the 1993 film "Alive"...? Now tell the real survivors to their faces that they were wrong in what they had to do, to stay 'Alive'.
*- If anything, in this day & age, we Atheists have the right to tell religion - certainly it's clergy - what to do. And it must comply, seeing as religion has had everything it's own way for thousands of years.
And if that means religion being forced to do as we Secularists say - via legislation - then so much the better. You've had your time, religion. And you've only completely fucked up.

@Rob
"You seem to be under the impression that your meat-eating lifestyle is under threat in some way, which I don't really understand."
I guess the same could be said of all Vegans.
What is an anti-Carnivore? A miserable little pile of interfering busy-bodies. But enough talk! Have a sausage roll! [/Castlevania]
