"slavery ... is a direct result of evolution teachings"

But your god is OK with slavery, if the bible is any guide. And funny how evolution wasn't even discovered until after slavery was eradicated from most of the world. Except, of course, in the southern United States where the bible was used to justify it.
"Then Abimelek brought sheep and cattle and male and female slaves and gave them to Abraham, and he returned Sarah his wife to him."
Genesis 20:14
Since Genesis is attributed either to Moses or anonymous writers in 500-600 B.C, while the theory of evolution was only thought of in the 1800s, you're completely incorrect.
Darwin published On the Origin of Species in 1859, after most of the western world had already abandoned slavery. (The concept of biological evolution actually dates back to the 18th century, but it wasn't until On the Origin of Species was published that a scientifically plausible model of evolution was presented.) This argument is made even sillier by the fact that Darwin himself was strongly abolitionist, as noted in his autobiography, having many aggressive arguments with the captain of the Beagle over his support of slavery.
The Captain of the Beagle, ironically, was a Fundamentalist-type Christian who later attacked Darwin over his theory and became a champion of anti-Darwinian Christians. I don't know if he had by then given up his pro-slavery views or not though.
Theodore here is probably thinking of the Polygenesis theory. (Which Darwin also opposed)
Similarly, people have attempted to blame "Darwinism" for Communism, despite the fact that The Communist Manifesto was published in 1848, eleven years before Darwin went public. Darwin has also been blamed for eugenics (including the Nazis') despite notions of "pure/tainted/inferior" or "royal/aristocratic/common" bloodlines and the associated "selective breeding" for humans being nearly as old as animal husbandry, which is thousands of years old, not to mention that Darwin himself declared the whole idea of eugenics to be "evil" and damaging to "the noblest part of our nature" in his book The Descent of Man.
That being said, Darwin had a number of Poisonous Friends who helped to associate his name with the practice, resulting in the name of Social Darwinism, a concept the man himself abhorred.
Critical thinking isn't your strong suit, is it Theo?
Care to explain to me how slavery, which has been around since the dawn of human civilization, can be blamed on the theory of evolution, which has existed for a little more than 150 years?
Something tells me his explanation would give me a migraine.
EDIT: I went and looked at the Facebook comments. That was enough to give me a headache. The stupid is strong in there.
I love how Christians always try to shift everything--goalposts and the Burden of Proof in debates, and blame when it comes to atrocities and crimes against humanity. First they lie through their teeth and say that Hitler was an atheist and that the Third Reich was an "atheist regime", and then go on to label communist regimes as "atheist regimes", and then say that "atheist regimes" has killed over a hundred million people. Fuck you morons. The fact that they can't make an honest argument either for their cult or against skepticism proves that they're deluded and full of crap.
@ J. James:
He borrowed one from H.G. Wells, who was trying to shoot his father at the time.
He went back to the dawn of civilization and tried to teach what passed for aristocracy back then a thing or two about the world around them. Since they were exactly the kind of mouth-breathers that conservatives revere, they heard what they wanted to hear. They used his teachings as an excuse for racism, and kept on worshiping stone idols with long hollow tubes where their mouths should be. Kind of the same thing that happened in the 20th Century. Just goes to show, you can't change history, just bullshit about it.
On the Origin of Species, the book which laid the foundation for the theory of evolution as it is understood today, was published November 24, 1859.
The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which banned slavery in the United States (then one of the countries with the most slaves in the world), took effect December 6, 1865.
Seems more likely that the abolition of slavery is a direct result of evolution(ary - "evolution" is not a frigging adjective) teachings.
This is bullshit too, of course, because no one in their right mind uses a scientific theory as a basis of morality.
"slavery ... is a direct result of evolution teachings"
Let me get this straight.
Although you said "evolution teachings", I'm assuming you meant evolution itself.
So, if God had created Earth as taught in Genesis, there never would have been any slavery. Slavery was caused by evolution. Right?
But since slavery is an historic fact, evolution must be valid and not creation.
Thank you for clearing that up for us.

I may be wrong, but I don't think evolution was a known fact for most or all of the time the USA had slaves. Again, I'm probably wrong. Even if it was, I doubt it was popular.
Anyway, I'm Canadian, so I don't know.
Ha ha ha.....no.
Slavery was, in relatively modern times compared to the bible's day, done for economic purposes...there were a lot of cash crops to be grown in the new world, and none of the conquerors wanted to do the dirty work. Gold was a big thing too. When the native populations were decimated, Africans were brought in to replace them. It was, my little conservatard, capitalism at its finest.
Unless Darwin travelled back in time, taught evolution to the ancients, instituted slavery and then zapped himself back to the 19th century, then no. Try again.
It should be noted that Captain Dipshit here believes everything that Kent Hovind says, including his totally insane "thesis" where Hovind claims that the ToE was created by Satan in the Garden of Eden, telling Eve that they would be like Gods. I'd recommend reading that crap, but I don't hate anyone that much.
"slavery ... is a direct result of evolution teachings"
A 'direct result'...? Strange then, that slavery was going on at least a century before Darwin made his discoveries.
History education. We Atheists have it. Do you ?
