I just remember my dad talking about my dead sister and he never shed a tear in front of me, although it nearly destroyed him. He was a stoic person—I never saw him shed a tear in my entire life until my mother died and he came to tell me she had died. He had nearly been killed in an automobile accident that left him limping for the rest of his life and in a lot of pain—crushed his foot—never complained and certainly never cried about it.
He was a true man of character and I have to admit—I do compare men to my father who grew up on a farm, got a scholarship to play football, and graduated from high school at age 16. Fought in WWII and loved Ronald Reagan. He owned his own business and hated the worthless hippies and unions.
This idea that you have to show your emotions—don’t hold them in-—is a bunch of hogwash and psychological babble to create people of weak character. Reducing men to emotional women.....is culturally learned. Stoicism is also learned and practiced-—as is character. Aristotle even knew this. Life is all about learning to control your emotions....two year olds even learn that. Just saying——it is the nature of women to be emotional —to be nurturers and emotionally attached and protective of babies. Men are the protectors and have to guard against emotions which make them weak and vulnerable—at least they always did—the good ones—until the Marxist indoctrination of books to confuse and destroy the patriarchy===like William’s Doll in the 70’s.
Feminism was founded by a communist to destroy men —particularly the development of boys into men. Took women from the home to destroy little children. Boys are the ones who suffer the most by lack of nurturing mother—it makes them emotionally weak and have little self-esteem.

There is nothing wrong with being stoic, and I respect your dad for being that type of person.
However, the rest of this is typical savagesuzie babble.
For savagesusie, I thought this was relatively tame until the last paragraph or so. I have a hard time expressing emotions myself (and despite myself).
But that very well could just be that her dad didn't express himself to her. That doesn't mean he didn't express himself at all. Perception goes a long way here.
"Feminism was founded by a communist to destroy men"
Well equality is rather destructive to patriarchy so I'll give you that, but do you guys even care that communism really doesn't mean what you're using it to mean?
hah! The wimp cried like a girlie when his wife died - an obvious pansie!!
I'd ask the bitch to reflect on this, but it would be beyond her:
Romans - one of the most vilent, psychopathic civilisations known - were stoics.
I don't get your statement.
You've been so alienated by your stuck up emotionless father that hasn't really achieved anything special in his life and you use that as an example of how ALL men need to be?
That's so rigid and stereotypical.
Most men fought in WW2, It was a world war, ANYONE that was over a certain age got sent to the war. Growing up on a farm in his age wasn't really hard to do either. Just makes you a stale countryboy.
If he never shed a tear about his own frekkin' daughter he's pretty damn emotionless. It's your own goddamn daughter, emotions show that you care for someone... Same goes for his wife/your mother, it is his love for christ sake...
Whatever floats your boat, just don't go on maury's when you're a single mum because your husband left you after a long line of beatings because you didn't make him a sandwich.
"Feminism was founded by a communist to destroy men particularly the development of boys into men. Took women from the home to destroy little children. Boys are the ones who suffer the most by lack of nurturing motherit makes them emotionally weak and have little self-esteem."
At this point I must conclude that savagesusie is actually a man, posing under a female user ID.
This is patently absurd, but tame for Susie. She'd probably freak out if she watched any recent anime, what with their highly-emotional guys and emotionless girls and fops everywhere... I'm sure you see where I'm going with this.
In other words, growing up with a cold, emotionless, non-nurturing father figure turned you into a cold, compassionless adult who is incapable of empathy and you will spend the rest of your life desperately trying to be heartless and right-wing enough to feel that maybe you could finally be worthy of some display of approval from him.
Men have to be stoic, so they should learn to quell their natural emotions.
Woman have to be domestic so they should adhere to their nature and stay in the home.
Hmmm.... something's off here.
Feminism was founded by a communist to destroy men particularly the development of boys into men. Took women from the home to destroy little children. Boys are the ones who suffer the most by lack of nurturing motherit makes them emotionally weak and have little self-esteem.
John Stuart Mill was a relatively early feminist writer (see The Subjugation of Women)and he pretty much founded (classical)liberalism, which freepers rip off for their libertarianism. Or thats what my marxist commy pinko uni profs indoctrinated me to belive.
"Yes, I understand that you are quite upset about ze Communism," replied Suzie's psychologist, "but vee must get to ze bottom of zees obsession of yours. Now, tell me about your mother.."
"Godless Commies !" Suzie ejaculated, clasping the sides of the couch, snarling and tossing her head about wildly.
"I see," replied the psychologist, jotting down some notes, reminding himself to increase Suzie's dosage of thorazine.
stoicism: look up the real philosophy behind it.
Marcus Aurelius' Solliloquies is a good start. great read, too.
(tl;dr version: strong emotions distort judgement: feel emotions, act once you've reasoned/ calmed down. basically, don't be a hard-ass)
- and I'll bet he hated that worthless scholarship and GI Bill, just Anne Coulter's father. Real men don't accept social security or medicare, either!
Feminism started before Marx was even born.
"I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7 My eyes waste away because of grief;
they grow weak because of all my foes."
Psalm 6: 6&7
"O that my head were a spring of water,
and my eyes a fountain of tears,
so that I might weep day and night
for the slain of my poor people!"
Jeremiah 9:1
"When he (Paul) had finished speaking, he knelt down with them all and prayed. There was much weeping among them all; they embraced Paul and kissed him, 38 grieving especially because of what he had said, that they would not see him again. Then they brought him to the ship."
Acts 20: 36&37
"Jesus wept."
John 11: 35
This explains alot ...
SavageSusie has complained before about her strained relationship with her own children.
Of course, none of this can be traced back to her own history of family dysfunctions ... it ALL is the fault of the Commies and HOMOs !!!!
"he never shed a tear in front of me"
Well that's nice, any confirmation he didn't at any other time?
[he] loved Ronald Reagan. He owned his own business and hated the worthless hippies and unions.
Ah, Saint Ronnie. Why am I not surprised?
@ whatever

Uh huh. I think "Susie" gets a lot of practice playing a girl.
> This idea that you have to show your emotionsdon’t hold them in-is a bunch of hogwash and psychological babble to create people of weak character.
That's weird. Some would say that crying is a very normal and human reaction to something sad. I have a slight distrust of people who, under certain circumstances, can't behave like ordinary people. I can understand if people are "stoic", but hell, there's limits to everything.
> the Marxist indoctrination of books to confuse and destroy the patriarchy
Oh yes, the Marxists, known for their deep hatred of patriarchy. Which is why all Soviet party officials were female.
...wait, this is Savagesusie, who uses the word "Marxist" like a reflex. Can't help but to casually drop the word in all discussions.
I knew you'd bring in the Communist Marxist Feminist Conspiracy somehow... but you forgot gays, Muslims, atheists, and bestiality. I'm disappointed, Susie.
Feminism was founded by a communist to destroy men particularly the development of boys into men.
You know, I always wondered how Boyz II Men were founded...
I thought it was those damn commies who were emotionless drones.
You have to love 'Fought in WWII and loved Ronald Reagan...'
Would that be the Ronald Reagan who spent the WWII years in California and New York serving in the 'First Motion Picture Unit'?
Incidentally, I ran the quote through the 'Gender Genie' text analyser and found
Female Score: 180
Male Score: 301
The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!
I knew it was about time for another savagesusie quote!
As usual you're using strawmen. Feminism does not strive to turn boys into girls, feminists want both genders to be treated equally. And, as any psychologist would tell you, it's pretty unhealthy to stuff your emotions down. If a man feels like he must cry, he should be able to without facing ridicule or societal pressure not to.
Oh and, Suse? Your dad sounds like a total dick.
Every time I now read a Savagesusie quote I'll be reminded of Harry Frederick Harlow
...an American psychologist best known for his maternal-separation and social isolation experiments on rhesus monkeys, which demonstrated the importance of care-giving and companionship in social and cognitive development...Harlow's experiments were controversial; they included rearing infant macaques in isolation chambers for up to 24 months, from which they emerged severely disturbed.
Your father may have cried in private, Susie, many men prefer to do that.
It isn't Marxism that makes men cry, it's human emotions. Men are people too.

If he gets sent to prison he'll get even more.

my dad ... was a true man of character ... He ... hated
So, men of character hate others?
Jesus and the Founding Fathers couldn't be prouder.
Feminism was founded by a communist
Which communist? Name please.
my father ... grew up on a farm, got a scholarship to play football, and graduated from high school at age 16. Fought in WWII
Let me guess, he never missed a Sunday at church, never went outdoors without a hat, led a boyscout troop, donated blood twice a month, and could spit tobacoo twenty feet. Right?
A manly man, the kind God loves. Not like God's sissy son who bawled out “my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” like a cry-baby, just because they were crucifying him. What a wuss.
Real Stoicism does lead to happiness. But it isn't not crying when you feel like crying, its not wanting to cry over things that you have no power to change.
By the way, how is this quite fundie in any way whatsoever? It seems to support a tolerant stance towards pagan philosophy. Misogyny doesn't equate to fundamentalism.
Susie, your daddy kept his emotions bottled up, and he did end up loving Reagan. I think I'll stick to effete blubbering, thank you very much.
[Boys are the ones who suffer the most by lack of nurturing motherit makes them emotionally weak and have little self-esteem.]
And then they grow up to be an empty unemotional shell of a person like your father.
See what I did there?
Just being a man means your strength is for hurting people, your emotions for nothing but hating and otherwise repressed? It's the privileged among us who tell you that because they want you to fight and hate for their benefit, at the expense of your own life and happiness. If you feel nothing and never complain you'll never leave this trap.
This idea that you have to show your emotionsdon’t hold them in-is a bunch of hogwash and psychological babble to create people of weak character.
Controlling emotion and hiding emotion are different things, and strong character is neither showing emotion nor hiding it. Strong character is not giving a fuck what people think of you for either hiding it or showing it.
"Feminism was founded by a communist to destroy men"
I doubt Mary Wollstonecraft* was a Commie somehow. Being as she predates Marx by some way.
* she's the first notable feminist I can think of.
susie, you sick freak, you have sunk to a all time LOW.
You actually defame your own FATHER to push your putrid politics?!?
DIAF, bitch!
Yeah, I remember guys raised in that tradition like my grandad who also served in WWII.
He was very stoic and never showed much emotion, my mum also told me that when she heard "fathers tired dear" when she was growing up it was code for "father has PTSD and is self medicating with alcohol"!
You seem to know a lot about hogwash and pyschological babble.
Citations sorely needed here.
My job "took" this woman from the home. To Krakow and Milan this trip. But surprisingly, destroying little children isn't on the meeting agenda for tomorrow.
You admired your father. That's good.
That doesn't mean we should be your father.
The rest is just a bbunch of idiocy.
@solomongrundy
The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!
I wouldn't put too much stock in Gender Genie. According to it, I'm a woman.
Heh, I read the first two paragraphs, and I was totally into it, thinking "yeah! It's nice to have a strong role-model like that!"
Then I read the rest of the post...
Did she just say she's happy her father had post-traumatic stress disorder thanks to the war...? What a bitch :/
"Come on, daddy, SUFFER! But don't ever shed tears or show emotion! Support your daughter's crazy reverse-sexism! NO EMOTION, JUST SUFFER!"
I think the people who believe this are of weak character, thinking they will be judged for showing human emotions. I admit people must control their emotions, but not to the point any personality is wiped of the face of the Earth.
That's funny ...who knew that during the Stalin-era that Russian men became a bunch of cry babies?
Safe to say, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. You're a repressed little fuck that would probably cry himself had he ever had an encounter with a "real" man.

'Only men cry.'
-Duane 'Dog' Chapman, "Dog the Bounty Hunter"

As my dad would say, 'Any dick can make a baby. But it takes a real man to raise a child. '
Your existence - never mind your 'argument' - is invalid, savagesusie.
Confused?
