But what of people who are working at a part-time job while working on their degree and their career? Don't they get some sort of recognition? Of course not, you say. Their lifetime goals are meaningless.

Ann, you may not know this but not every bachelor's degree is the same. Even if everyone in the world gets a bachelor's degree that doesn't mean my degree in computer science is worthless or that a degree in engineering is worthless. Not everyone gets a degree in the same subject so your point has already been demolished and I haven't even gone into concentrations yet.
