Quote# 85832

Q: Ann,
What advice would you have for Tim Tebow?

A: Retire. Get out of that cesspool. You have already accomplished a tremendous amount culturally. You done good, Boy. Now get out of there. The money IS NOT WORTH IT. The single greatest Christian example you could set is to walk away from the NFL right now.

Q: Ann,
Where should I go to college?

A:You probably shouldn't. The people who are going to be in the best shape after this collapse are people who know an honest-to-goodness TRADE. 95% of college degrees are utterly useless. Further, the Marxists are trying to gin up a sense of entitlement amongst the young by stating that a college education is a "human right" and that everyone should have a college degree. What they are really trying to do is enslave everyone with student loan debt. If everyone has a college degree, then a college degree will be, by definition, utterly meaningless. If the guy who scrubs the toilets at Burger King has a bachelor's, then what meaning does a bachelor's have? None. I would recommend learning by apprenticeship something like plumbing, welding, engine repair, carpentry, masonry, animal husbandry, petroleum extraction, machining, fishery, etc. College is over. Most degrees are intrinsically useless. Skip it.

Q: Ann,
What do you think of the Marines who peed on the dead Taliban?

A: I have little sympathy for men who live their lives wiping their anuses with their bare hands after bowel movements, and who view as the pinnacle of human pleasure inserting their genitals and depositing their semen into the feces-laden rectums of boys and other men, who suddenly get squeamish about dead bodies being sprinkled with a bit of urine - which is sterile by the way. Those dead Taliban were probably the cleanest they had ever been in their adult lives after being showered with the righteous tinkles of those Marines. Ooh-rah. That is all. Carry on.

"I have little sympathy for men who live their lives wiping their anuses with their bare hands after bowel movements"

That's not a very nice thing to say about the Marines.

I have little sympathy for men who live their lives wiping their anuses with nothing but a thin piece of tissue after bowel movements, and who view as the pinnacle of human pleasure inserting their genitals and depositing their semen into the urine-laden holes of a completely different gender.

Lots of places in the third world are so poor or so primitive because of their poverty that they don't have toilet paper, although they'd probably LOVE to have it.

See, Ann, this is where education comes in handy.

@ Entertainer13

Uh, vaginas aren't urine-laden. That's kind of impossible unless the woman has urinated in a really weird position. And maybe not even then. You'd better look it up.

>>showered with the righteous tinkles<<

Are we sure that this isn't a Poe?

i hope sombody rips your head clean off and pis in your dead fucking skul!!!.thank you

1/30/2012 11:44:28 AM

I agree that if everyone had a college degree, it would render degrees meaningless. The rest, though...

1/30/2012 11:45:37 AM

This has got to be a poe - or a mad woman.

This ignores the fact that some people study for reasons other than how much they can earn in a marketplace. This person thinks that they're being hard-nosed and realistic, but in fact they're being a crude cultural vandal and elevating philistinism to a virtue.
As for the Marines thing, that just don't add up. Muslims have a thing about ritual washing before prayer and their prophet said "cleanliness is half of faith". The Taliban are also at least as anti-gay as you are.
But, by your logic you won't mind if I sprinkle your corpse with a bit of righteous urine, will you. After all, it's sterile.

Rabbit of Caerbannog

She's not a Poe, she's quite insane, and she gives lectures to Tea Party groups. Be afraid.

1/30/2012 1:47:24 PM

Are people this insane allowed into the Internet?

This is one screwed up bitch ...

@Rabbit of C: Yes, I am afraid!! P

This is straight-up trolling.

You have already accomplished a tremendous amount culturally.

Tebow is an attention whore. What good has he done, except invite people to ridicule christians?

As for the rest of this rubbish, pile it atop Ann and set fire to it.

1/30/2012 3:05:49 PM

This seems so . . . poe-ish. Even if it is a real advice column.

ain't it a trifecta? fundie: check. crackpot: check. racist: if you think "brown people are icky muslims" then check again...

You are a mean-spirited chickenhawk who thinks that becoming expendable labor is somehow more free than actually learning things that expand one's horizons. You support impulsive and irrational interventions that will end up making more enemies. Please, be disappeared into the night like so many people that have opposed such interventions have been.

I can whittle some, but the results don't resemble anything real. Can I consider this a trade?

If you do the math (and I have), a college degree pays for itself. Here's part of an article I wrote last year.

Is College Worth it?

In 2010, the median income for a high school graduate was $38,976. If you managed a 2 year Associate Degree, the median was $56,811. If you got a 4 year Bachelor’s degree the median increases to $75,568, almost double a high school graduate.

Now let’s consider costs. I’m using New Jersey college costs simply because I’m familiar with the schools.

Let’s start with the Community College route. An Associate Degree at Bergen Community College will run you about $6,500 a year if you go full time.

If you go the four year college route there are really two paths. You can go the private school path which is going to run you between $40,000 and $50,000 a year assuming no grants, scholarships or other financial aid that you don’t need to pay back. So that’s somewhere between $160,000 and $200,000. Those are big numbers but you can expect to recoup that amount, plus any interest paid on loans, in 5 to 10 years. Considering you’ll probably be working al least 40 years, it’s still a good deal.

If you manage to get into a state college the costs drop to $25,000 a year for a total of $100,000 which you can expect to recover, including the interest on loans, in 4 to 5 years or less. That’s pretty much a bargain.

Can you make a lot of money without a college education? Sure, but the odds are against you so ignore the morons that say college isn’t worth it. The numbers say they’re wrong.

Umm, wha?

California earners in my family.

software engineer = 150,000, year round work, BA degree, 10 years experience

electrician = 50,000 if there is year round work (which there usually isn't), AA degree, apprenticeship, 40 years experience

artist = unreliable 30,000, AA degree, training, 10 years experience

wood worker = unemployment, high school degree, 40 years experience

Summary: highschool to AA = assistance vs. able to pay bills,
AA to BA = can't save shit vs. mad money

Conclusion: go to college, even a poor choice in degree is better than no degree

If atheists don't believe in a soul or life after death then what is the big deal about what you do with dead bodies? They're just lifeless chunks of meat

1/31/2012 3:20:26 AM

Argle Bargle

That woman is a walking volcano of hate and bile. Disgusting.

Maybe because it was a pointless act of barbarism that can only antagonize the locals that those marines are supposed to help? If the situation was the other way around you'd be screaming for their blood.

"If atheists don't believe in a soul or life after death then what is the big deal about what you do with dead bodies? They're just lifeless chunks of meat."

Good question. I, for one, couldn't care less what anyone does with mine after I'm done using it (and I mean this now, while I'm still able to care).

1/31/2012 3:41:49 AM

@Rat of Steel

If I had just killed somebody and felt cheerful enough for a prank, would you trust me with defending your life and liberty?

Apart from that, American soldiers are supposed to win the Afghans to our side. If they don't, it's just a matter of time until they leave and Afghanistan falls back into barbarism. Peeing on corpses is NOT a good way to make people like you.

"Most degrees are intrinsically useless."

Out of everything she wrote, that's what boils my blood the most (though the others don't make me too happy either). The letters at the end of a person's name have more meaning that Ann seems to think. They show that a person is educated, that they know how to think critically, and that they've dedicated four or more years of their lives toward that goal. And that's nothing to scoff at.

Yes, you might see a person with a BA stuck as a french fry technician. But you'll never see a person with no degree whatsoever designing working jet engines or performing life-saving surgeries or successfully running a corporate empire. Take a freakin' guess why!
