Some adequately controlled double-blind studies published in a peer-reviewed journal might be nice at this point.

PZ already covered this one. They didn't document their experiment at all and didn't even show how they determined what bacteria was present and even made an erroneous claim that an opportunistic pathogen, which can be used to create antibiotics, indicated that the solution was 'safe'...

That's it. I'm eating house flies from now on, and dunking them in my drinks. It works for birds and spiders. The smart pills I've been buying from the rabbit farmer next door don't seem to be working...yet. Sheesh! You'd think @$5 a pop I'd be a virtual genius by now.
Oh, well, at least I'll have my health.
Hey - what about if I just eat the wings? OK, then, another scientific experiment to perform.

"...A group of Muslim researchers in Egypt and Saudi Arabia carried several experiments on containers of water, honey and different juices. They exposed them to the flies. Then they immersed some flies in some of these containers. The microscopic examination showed that the liquids in which no flies were immersed were full of bacteria and viruses, while the others where the flies were totally immersed had none."
A group of christian researchers in the Vatican and Alabama immersed the Koran and the Bible in containers of different juices. A microscopic exmination of the Koran drinks showed it was full of AIDS, while the Bible drinks were full of pennicillin and vitamins.

... Pretty sure disease does not work that way, boyo. Are you sure that Muhammad wasn't being figurative here? The Koran and Hadith are even more poetical than the Judeo-Christian books. (And apparently this isn't even from the Koran, so why do you insist that it be literally true? Fundies confuse me...)
Also, Mr. Islamic fundie, sir, how come you accept nonsense like this, but will easily see through bullshit fundamentalist Christian claims?
As an aside, I know what "pbuh" is supposed to stand for, but writing its initials out like that, all in lowercase with no periods, makes it seem like the fundie spat something. It's really stupid.

On the plus side; muslims did figure out, some twelve hundred years before christians, that flies actualy carry disease.
Too bad they had to add all this stupid nonsense on top of that.

Yeah I think I'll just be on the safe side and throw out anything a fly has landed in/on.
Maybe this is why most Middle Eastern theocracies are backwards shitholes.

"The Prophet (pbuh) said,
"If a housefly falls into the drink of anyone of you, he should immerse it completely in the liquid, then remove it, for one of its wings has the disease and the other has the cure."
This Hadith means that the fly carries on one of its wings a disease, and on the other a cure from the same disease."
And to think, centuries ago, Islam once illuminated the world with it's early discoveries into astronomy, mathematics, and medicine.
You want your 'beliefs' to be equated with the Dark Ages, you go right ahead, pal.
Meanwhile, my physician - a Sufi Muslim - lives by what he was taught in his youth by his Imam: 'Learn all that is learnable. For Allah has given you these things to know.'
He even has this saying as a plaque on his surgery wall (in English & exquisite Arabic calligraphy). Words to live by indeed.

"The Prophet (pbuh) said,

That's because he was a stupid fucker.
"This Hadith means that the fly carries on one of its wings a disease, and on the other a cure from the same disease. When a fly falls into a container (of food or drink), it puts forward the wing carrying the microbe, as a self-defense. Imam Ibn Hajar said in his commentary on the hadith that one of the scholars observed that the fly protects itself with its left wing, so it can be deduced that it carries the cure or the antidote on the right wing. So if the fly is immersed in whatever it falls on, the antidote will destroy the venom or the microbe with the will of Allah."
You're a stupid fucker also for believing this shit.
If they actually carried out such an experiment--which I'm highly skeptical of--then they too are stupid fuckers.

Your premise was flawed from the very beginning, since you already knew the results you intended to find. Your methodology was shit, and while I can't be entirely certain, I'm pretty sure you went for the hat trick and printed the report on some sort of cracker.
Fucking science, how does it work?

Check out
Pharyngula. This "experiment" is destroyed as seriously flawed.
Pretty much like those "creation scientists" who start with their conclusion then look to the data to support it, ignoring all the data that contradicts them.
The Qur'an is bullshit, just like the Bible.

I know a hadith that says Muhammad was a vicious lying hypocritical bastard. I had it from a bloke down the pub, who had it from a guy he met in Egypt one time, who had it from a hooker in Port Said, who had it from the descendant of the owner of one of the camel trains Muhammad's gang used to rob.

Oh, for fuck's sake. That is so obviously metaphorical you'd have to be a total and utter irredeemable, nuclear powered moron to think anything else of it, much less pervert scientific understanding with hokey experiments.
Please, please tell me I just got trolled. Please?
