Yup, he said it himself, right off the bat. It was all downhill from there on.
Is English SetaSan's first language? I certainly hope not.

Translation-I'm a lazy ass who doesn't want to do any work at all, but my wife got pissed at me for sitting around drinking beer and playing video games all day while she worked her butt off trying to earn enough to keep us from losing the house.
And no, not all women have that choice. Many families today require two incomes just to stay afloat.

Not fundie. Fundies love to pretend they feel closer to God while herding the goats, keeping their wives locked up, etc.

Not fundie, but certainly misogynistic. He has a tagline on his post saying that he's 'standing up for men's interests' and therefore not a misogynist, but I don't know what else to call the assertion that what a woman does to maintain her (shared, presumably) home when she is not the wage-earner isn't WORK.

Hey, SetaSan, there's a word for people who take joy in unemployment. They're called "bums."

Probably the least stressful time of my adult life was the four months i spent unemployed.
Me, too. I sit home every day and I'm relaxed as hell! My wife's pretty relaxed, too. But I have a pension of 80% of my salary, company-provided medical insurance, a paid-for house and a half-million in the bank. Try talking to someone who lost his job and has none of those things.

Protip: There's no shame in being a stay at home dad. Cleaning around the house and doing "women's work" won't make your penis shrivel up and disappear, I promise!

Let's take the few clauses that are almost true, here, and turn them imto the whole truth.
Women in western societies, who through choice or lack of choice have children, have four things that can happen to them. They might be lucky enough to either be born or married into enough wealth that they are rich enough that they do not have to work, and can hire a nanny (this is a VERY small number of women). They may have to work full time (or more) to care for their children (either as primary or dual wage-earner) while ALSO DOING A MAJORITY OF THE HOME-MAKING WORK. They may only have the employment opportunity to somehow raise their kids on only part-time wages, while ALSO DOING A MAJORITY OF THE HOME-MAKING WORK. Or they may not have any employment opportunity, or choose to stay home while relying on a (usually) male partner or the government to provide them with enough money while they spend their time DOING A MAJORITY OF THE HOME-MAKING WORK.
While men have relative freedom in their parenthood responsibilities and employment opportunity. Now that's what I call privilege!

Anyone want to bet that SetaSan's wife was the one stressing out while he was sitting on his ass when he was supposed to be out looking for work?
@lisamariefan:
Doing housework won't even require him to sit down to pee!

Let me get this straight. You're unhappy because your wife worked her butt off to support your sorry ass?

Every study that's ever been done on the subject has proven that stay-at-home wives/mothers put in many times more hours of work than their partners who are employed outside the home. This is also true of women who have jobs outside the home.
And when they do have outside jobs, women are paid, on average, 75 cents for every dollar a man would get paid for the same work.
Why don't YOU offer to make your wife a sammich, for a change. She'll probably faint dead away from the shock.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My stepmom's parents never worked a day in their lives, and the father lived to the ripe old age of 93, while the other is still alive in her late 80s.
Mind you, they lived on welfare, abused their kids, and could barely put food on the table, but why don't we just ignore that little downfall.
Yes, not working is awesome, but it comes at a price that, for most, outweighs the benefits. If you don't mind being homeless and foodless you go ahead and not work. Just don't expect your wife to jump for joy. Asshole.
These days, it usually takes two incomes to support a family, even if it's a childless couple. So whether your wife was working and taking care of kids, just taking care of kids, or just working, then I think she had every right to be mad at you. If she wasn't working OR taking care of kids...well, in that case her only right to complain would be that you weren't doing any housework (which I'm guessing was the case, if those were the least stressful months of your life). Unless she was in school, disabled, or some other LEGITIMATE reason not to work. But either way, you're still an asshole because of the rest of this post.
Any man can, if his wife has a good enough job, stay home and do what women have traditionally done — stay home and take care of the house and, if they have any, the kids. And if the wife doesn't have a good enough job for the man to do that, then that's either her fault — in which case it's no different than if the genders were reversed — or it's due to male privilege making it harder for a woman to get a decent job. So much for your hypothesis that it's women who have all the privilege.

Men can also work part time or retire............provided, like women, that THEY ARE MILLIONAIRES. So, think twice when you're unemployed again, because money also may disappear.

I find it hilarious that because he expressed his belief that women have more choice in regards to whether they wish to have a job or not, you guys immediately label him sub-human scum for losing his fucking job for 4 months.
Stay classy.

You just see what you want to see.
He's a wage slave, bro. A useless cog in the machine. It's so unfair of women to oppress his right to not be just a number by being able to chose... a thing that they actually can't choose because they're also wage slaves and he can't see that because he's completely wrapped in his fantasy of martyrdom.
Don't be fooled by assholes like this. Maybe we can all relate to him on some level but that doesn't mean he's not trying to bamboozle us into feeling sorry for him when it's ultimately him being a shithead.
