No, they're trying to keep the children who will one day realize they're gay from committing suicide in their teens, and the other children from developing the ignorance and bigotry that will lead them to harrass those gay kids and drive them to it.

Whatever isn't prohibited is mandatory. That's why all women are forced to have abortions, people are forced to drink alcohol, people are forced to have sex and use contraception, people are forced to euthanize themselves, and people are forced into same-sex marriages.

Well, that's funny. I thought that if you're just able to summarise your ridiculous beliefs, you'd see for yourself just how stupid they are. You'd see yourself writing the words "Whatever is not Prohibited is Mandatory" and go "hey, wait a second, I have no fucking proof whatsoever that this is happening, and the thought of that happening in the future is just fucking ridiculous".

How does homosexuality bring about the destruction of society/marriage, exactly? Homosexuals already exist. They're not harming society in any way, shape or form. What part of giving them their rightful civil liberties would destroy society?
How the fuck do you destroy marriage, an institution that meant different things in different times and cultures, by slightly altering its current definition? I keep trying to find a plausible explanation, but I simply can't. The only rationale I can think of is "I hate gay people and want to keep them being second class citizens."

This post basically proves Freepers have no concept of choice or, hilariously enough, freedom. They want to illegalize anything they don't like, and criminalize people they don't like. So they assume the opposite is true of their opposition, that they want to make everything mandatory. No, we want to give people to options to actually make their own choices, even if we disagree with those choices.
