Quote# 86046

I have plainly said that I do believe ‘geocentrism’ as God states plainly in the Bible that ‘the Earth is the center of it all’ all meaning the universe. There is plenty of scientific evidence for anyone to see this is becoming much more apparent. You on the other hand want to constantly go back to a centuries old definition to imply ‘all’ as merely our solar system.

oh first comment. When did you stop going to school? Can you please tell us the evidence you have. This is the biggest pile of poo I've seen

Yet more of this 'scientific evidence'. This time, 'plenty' of it. There must be huge, cavernous warehouses full of the stuff hidden away somewhere. I wish I could get to see just a tiniest little bit of it, but it looks like I don't know the right people.

Except using the Heliocentric representation of the Solar system, NASA engineers sent Pioneer probes to Uranus, Pluto and outter space.

Remind me where geocentrism tenants sent probes ? I think it sounds like Uranus, but I can't remember.

And yet, the Earth is not the center of our solar system, either.

Earth is the centre of it all, from a human perspective. Why not be content with that? From a wider perspective, it's just a tiny, insignificant speck, as is the sun. It's hard from that perspective to see it as the centre of anything. It's in a marginal position on the spiral arm of a minor galaxy, in an expanding universe.
And the earth isn't the centre of the solar system either. The sun is. That's why it's called the solar system.

Yes there's just heaps of evidence for geocentrism, oodles of it! And it's all scientific, yesiree! Yup, it's so scientific that every second word ends in "-ology", and you can't get more scientific than that. Well, unless all the words ended in "-ology", but then you'd have to write "the" as "theology" and it'd get confusing and those Satanic minion heliocentrists would try to claim the whole mountain of evidence I have is all religiously biased instead of admitting its pure sciencey evidentialness.

Yup, I got so much super-scientific evidence that, like, no fact can contradict it, 'kay? Like my theories and stuff are so evidenced up they are actually laws, so you can't contradict them because you'd get arrested by the science police or something!

Sho', no-one got more evidence than me, and there's none sciencier than mine, so that's why you have to believe me, because all my mega-scientific evidence says I'm right!

What? You what to see it?

You don't think I carry all that evidence around with me do you? There's far too much!

But I got it all right, and it's scientific! Trust me!

Wrong on all levels.

Our solar system is in the redneck outback region of one of our galaxy's spiral arms. Earth isn't even the center of our solar system (that would be Sol, hence the name). We are not at all near the center of our own galaxy and our galaxy is not the center of the universe.

You are a knuckle-dragging fuck tard.

Some of you seem to misunderstand what he's saying. He's saying that even though Earth is not the center of the solar system, it is the center of the universe, and that scientists are naive for thinking that when the Bible says the Earth is the center of all, it means the solar system. The problem is: the evidence of which he speaks does not exist!

2/15/2012 7:01:07 AM

I don't think Earth as a planet is even mentioned in the Bible.

Saying something has a lot of scientific evidence and then not displaying said evidence does not make something true.

This, creationists, is indeed what the Bible says. Since you can ignore what the Bible plainly says when it comes to such things which are as obviously wrong as geocentrism, why can't you do the same and accept evolution?

Fundie debate tactic #1: Always claim that there is a lot of evidence for your claims, but never offer to show it. If the evil atheist skeptics keep badgering you to show some evidence, always refer to creationist websites or the bible.

BTW, the earth isn't even the center of our own solar system, so how can it be the center of the entire universe?

"You on the other hand want to constantly go back to a centuries old definition..."

"I have plainly said that I do believe ‘geocentrism’ as God states plainly in the Bible that ‘the Earth is the center of it all’ all meaning the universe."

Yes, and it also says all manner of other silly and unfounded bullshit. What of it?

"There is plenty of scientific evidence for anyone to see this is becoming much more apparent."

Then you should have no problem providing this evidence. Yet you failed to do that. What a surprise.

"You on the other hand want to constantly go back to a centuries old definition to imply ‘all’ as merely our solar system."

Neither the solar system nor the universe have Earth at the center of it.

Try dramatic gesturing. It might help your evidence emerge faster. Or a laxative....

God didn't state that. An ancient man who had no knowledge of science did. But keep up the mental gymnastics to try to defend Biblical inaccuracies. It's very entertaining.
