I thought the statistical percentage of homosexuals to heterosexuals are somewhat constant. Sort of like being left handed. They have always been there. I've heard fundies toss the phrase "Just like the Weimar Republic" around before to sound historical, but I have yet to hear any of them explain how post WW1 Germany led directly to Nazi Germany. A charismatic douchebag took the country by force in a coup de'tat , that's the exact opposite of a logical conclusion, it's like saying that getting run over by a drunk driver is the most logical outcome of me going outside.

Uhh, no. Hitler's party won enough votes in an election to have him appointed Chancellor by President Hindenburg. Then things really went downhill. There was never any coup d'etat.
As with the whole so-called Weimar era, Hitler's path to power is very complicated. Much too complicated for the likes of a two syllable demagogue like Buchanan, and obviously for many others too.
