Gay marriage allows the huge, rich homosexual organizations (funded by Home Depot, Disney, Ford Foundation, Haas Foundation and many others)to get rid of faith-based adoption agencies, to allow gay adoptions, teach homosexuality in schools, demand homosexual arts funding and in a thousand ways get into the pockets of taxpayers and deny freedom of religion.

It allows them to attack churches who will not perform gay marriages.

Also only 20% of gays get married and most of those are lesbians.

If only so few gays marry, how then would getting gay marriage approved give those ehm, "homosexual organisations" any significant power?

And time and again I say, look at the countries where gay marriage is allowed. The only thing that has changed since then is that some gays are getting married. That's it. Most people didn't even notice anything different.

Dude, where do I sign up with these huge organizations? I could seriously use the money. By the way, your statistics on gay marriage still stink of your ass. Try washing them next time.

only 20% of gays get married

Yeah, so? 50% of married heteros are getting divorced these days. Isn't that a bigger calamity in absolute numbers?!

most of those are lesbians.

Again, so?! Leviticus 18:22 doesn't mention lesbians specifically, only gay men's actions.

20% get married? I think that's impressive since you assholes have made it so hard for them to do so. Not even 20% of the states in the US allow same-sex marriage.

to allow gay adoptions

Fundies would rather a child die alone and unloved than to have gay parents. It's their pro-family agenda to prevent many kids from having families.

teach homosexuality in schools

You can't "teach homosexuality" any more than you can teach blonde hair. You can teach people ABOUT homosexuality and why it's wrong to pick on people for something they are born with and something that's nobody's business.

demand homosexual arts funding

Artists need funding, whether they are gay or not.

and in a thousand ways get into the pockets of taxpayers and deny freedom of religion

Yet I bet you'd vote for Santorum who wants to set up a big government theocracy. And how does gay marriage deny you your religious rights, exactly? You're still allowed to hold your bigoted beliefs, your church can still deny gay people marriage, hell, your church can claim that all gays are the anti-Christ. The only thing you can't do is prevent City Hall or other religions who AREN'T bigoted from marrying gays. And now that I mention that, I think it's clear who's actually denying freedom of religion, it's you.

Free Republic have got this absolutely correct.

I was in Sweden with my girlfriend last summer and society had simply ceased to function since they let all those disgusting homo's marry each other.

Oh, ahem, wait a minute...

If gays are only 1%, and only 20% of them get married, how is freedom of religion being denyed?

If your whole religion is based on the concept of "Them Gays r Ebil!" Then you have a problem.

I don't care if there were only two gay people in the entire country who wanted to get married, they should have that right.

And how, exactly, is extending the right of marriage to gay couples denying freedom of religion? Or do you mean freedom of persecution?

"These days, whenever I think of Jesus, which, admittedly, is not that often, but when I do, any thoughts of Jesus seem to be accompanied by images of homosexual acts. A particular favourite is an image of Jesus on the cross surrounded by naked lesbians. I can't for the life of me think why i make these strange associations between Christianity and homosexuality?"

Well, Jesus did hang around with twelve men, two of whom were sailors; one of said twelve kissed him. He didn't have a girlfriend, nor did he marry. Jesus wore a dress too...! If Ken Russell were alive today, you would have given him ideas about making another fundie-baiting film...! "The Last Temptation of Christ", anyone...?! >:D

"only 20% of gays get married "

a) Citation needed.
b) Comparison to the marriage rate among straight people also needed.
c) Have you factored in the percentage of gay people who would like to get married but can't because of idiots like you?

I'm not even touching the rest of this.

I haven't heard of any attacks on churches who refuse to perform gay marriages, as such a refusal is well within their rights.

The rest of this is standard homophobic propaganda. Nothing to see, move along, people.

Last time I looked, the only assholes burning churches on a regular basis were other alleged Christians who didn't like the color of the parishioners whose churches they were burning. Is that what you meant by, "attacking churches?"

Please explain further.
