Quote# 86397

What does the left like? Abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality, and transgenderism. What do those things have in common? Fewer human beings. By the time a transgendered person figures out what they want to be they probably can’t have kids anymore (might be a good thing for other reasons, but overall the trend is fewer and fewer people). They think they only hate God, but in reality what they hate is humanity.

It would be a terrible burden to have the hardware of one sex and the software of the other, but chemicals and surgery at the expense of others might not be the best answer. Especially at a time when society is broke.

The intensity with which you wish for others to continuously procreate makes it seem as if you have an insatiable appetite for babies.

> What does the left like? Abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality, and transgenderism.

A free hint: Just because people may support such endeavours doesn't mean they think they must be enforced on those people who don't want them.

> What do those things have in common? Fewer human beings.

If forced upon populace. But since no one with half a brain is even advocating that, your argument is invalid.

It will never cease to amuse me whenever someone mentions anything that lowers birth rates and implies that it's a BAD thing. I mean, it isn't as if the global population is exploding at unprecedented, horrifying rates putting severe strain on every single natural resource, despite the myriad and amazing advancements in the last fifty years alone. And it isn't as if lower population growth and smaller families, and the mechanisms that have lead to these achievements, have been a crucial contributing factor to rising standards of living in many nations around the planet.

Also, standard comment about how "the left" doesn't inherently likes these things, but rather likes giving people the power to choose for themselves what they want to do with themselves and their future.

I can't really speak to euthanasia, homosexuality, or transgenderism (if that's a word), but we're not performing enough abortions to support my appetite for fetuses...

This may be a radical idea, but how about accepting that there are already enough people around and that we should first make sure those that are already here have it good before adding more that we can't take care of?

7 billion people.

Remember that agriculture requires fresh water and space. Note that many places on Earth aren't fit for farming. Remember also that those people need, at the absolute minimum, some manner of clothing and some sort of home to live in addition to the food, and all of those things take resources to obtain. Water is in short supply now. That's going to be a real problem in a few more decades, unless something changes.

You can fit all of the world's population in Texas with room to spare. I've heard plenty of people bandy that bit of anecdata around. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the farms needed for their food.

We're doing...sort of okay at 7 billion. There's an awful lot of people not getting enough to eat or fresh clean water to drink, but in theory, if we could somehow completely fix the distribution system, make it insanely efficient, put all national differences aside, and put a bullet in certain leaders who like to use their people's misery as a bargaining chip and replace them with actual human beings with a soul, we MIGHT be able to keep them all fed and healthy. Maybe. The likelihood of that happening seems only slightly lower than the odds of the sun rising in the west tomorrow.

The same probably isn't going to be possible with 14 billion. Or maybe even 10. Ever see what happens to deer on an island that overgraze their island? Imagine that on a worldwide scale. The free market probably isn't going to fix it. Or maybe it will, if you count "mass starvation of everyone who can't afford food" as a solution.

So I think we've maybe got enough people. It has nothing whatsoever to do with hate, and everything to do with keeping the people who are alive NOW healthy. Those little rubber raincoats are GOOD things.

Why do these people never decry celibacy as evil? It's just as unlikely to result in kids as being gay or having a sex change.

Argh! Again with this conspiracy that liberals want to destroy humanity! If we wanted to destroy humanity, do you really think we'd be campaigning for human rights for all people, not just the majority?

At least one in seven of all the people alive today do not have access to decent food, clean water, basic medical care or security of life. Prove you can treat the ones alive now with decency and, possibly, I'll support the idea of producing more.

Fewer human beings.

Won't someone please think about the underpopulation crisis?

They think they only hate God, but in reality what they hate is humanity.

If that's as good as your mind-reading trick gets, keep your day job.

Especially at a time when society is broke.

Which fag-enabling hippie liberal feminazi famously said that there is no such thing as society?

Let me venture a guess...
Socialized medicine. "Chemicals and surgery". Woe that tax money should go to anything except keeping the Iraqis and Afghanis from attacking Peoria on camels. This largely from red states that are heavily subsidized by the blue states.
I'm alive and fairly healthy thanks to the Veterans' Administration.
GO, Social Meds!

There are over 7 billion people on Earth and we don't have infinite resources. The only reason we're still living comfortably and not fighting over food is because the third world is so poor. We have enough people on the planet without you idiots farting out another 10 kids. As of now, the only way we can even MAINTAIN a population of 7 billion people and keep them all fed and clothed will be to yet again revolutionize agriculture, but the right wing also hates science. Even if we do THAT, people are living longer and the Earth only has a finite amount of real estate available for both living and farming. At some point we just physically CAN'T spread any further. Then what?

Don't forget the death penalty. Decreasing the surplus population must use the most traumatic means possible, under the guise of "law and order".
