the guy when he says "This is too close to home" basically got shot down by a girl because she saw what he was up to. in the comic, the pick-up artist chooses to hit on black hat guy's girl-friend-antagonist. it has been shown in xkcd's limited continuity that she is a grade AAA bitch, and very cunning to boot.
methinks that guy has got girl issues.

Methinks someone's a little too sensitive about not getting laid in a while. His frustration is showing.
In an ideal world you'd be able to be honest and straight with women about your intentions and eventually everything would work out. Do you want to date? You would get a simple yes/no answer. You want casual sex? Also a yes/no answer.
I agree, however, I know all too well that this is not how women's sexuality works. True, I might just be able to ask my wife if she wants to make love and get a yes/no answer, but that comes from being married 12 years. If I were single I would never try that with a complete stranger. However, treating women like shit so you can break down their self esteem so that they will try to please you is just totally manipulative, and whether you realize it or not, most women can see through you. Maybe you should take the advice of the comic and just try treating women like human beings.

He's not even that misogynist he's just expressing frustration with the dating game, just as I thought everyone felt from time to time- men and women!
The only reason I can possibly think for this comment being on FSTDT is that FSTDT has been inundated with the kind of confident arrogant pricks who were lucky enough to be born with enough natural subconscious charisma and charm to never need to think about these sorts of challenges and who get their kicks from laughing at those less fortunate than themselves.
