(On the topic of guns)
I don't like them because I think they should be taken OUT of the hands of the black and latino criminals and owned by the white people victimized by this criminal element. PERIOD.

I visited that forum and from what New Jersey Mom has said, white criminals do not use guns as often as criminals of different ethnicities.
Which I think is just a little absurd.

@Firewing
What REALLY ticks me off is that he somehow got away with it. Of course, it's not too late: he hasn't officially been tried.
But the fact that he's NOT IN JAIL enrages me!
I don't have a problem with guns in and of themselves. There are situations in which they're appropriate, and I'm all in favour of them being legal, under reasonable regulation.
That being said, when you accompany your blatant racist stereotyping with a clear indication that you consider deadly weapons to be a reasonable level of defense against "criminals" (most of the time meaning nothing worse than thieves or tresspassers), I get worried. Willingness to use deadly force when the lives of innocents are clearly at risk is one thing, but too often this kind of statement is meant as a claim that you would be willing to shoot someone in defense of your stuff . If you are, or think you would be, willing to shoot someone because they took your TV, then you are either an idiot or a sociopath. If you're willing to shoot someone because they looked like they might be thinking about taking someone's TV*, there's a good chance you're both. Stupid sociopathic racists with guns worry me - so please, by all means, continue to dislike them. If you wish to take up a dislike of table knives and staplers as well, I'd be in favour of that too.
* Or at least, were black and looking at things. And yes, we're looking at you here, George Zimmerman.
1) "Latino" is not a race. A Latino or Hispanic person can be of any so-called "race". In the US almost half (40%) of Latinos self-identify as "white" on the Census. It's like calling Anglophone a "race" and claiming black Americans aren't black because they speak English rather than an African language.
2) White about nonwhite people victimized by criminalistic white people? I bet Trayvon Martin wishes that someone would have taken guns away from psychotic racist white guys like the one who hunted him down and murdered him.
Pulling data from statehealthfacts.org:
Death rate from firearms by race/ethnicity, USA 2008:
White - 9.1 / year / 100,000 population
Black - 18.4 / year / 100,000 population
All other - 3.6 / year / 1000,000 population
Most people who identify as Latino have been lumped in with other whites in this analysis. But it is very clear that blacks are the ones most likely to die from somebody shooting them. White people aren't being victimized - especially when we subtract suicides (~1/2 of all firearms deaths) from these numbers.
And we have a problem to fix if both whites and blacks are so much more likely to get shot than other populations.
Confused?
