In a thread titled, "The Islamic conquer of Europe".
Call it hypocritical, but we can't give freedom to people who want to use it against us, it's a form of cultural masochism and generations from now, I don't want my family to live in a Europe plagued by social unrest because we allowed immigrants who despise everything about us and refuse to live in the 21st century.

You know, I am really really getting tired of hearing this.
There is no islamification of Europe, there is no Islamic conquest of Europe. There are a few small groups of noisy, unpleasent individuals who are ruining it for the vast majority of the muslim population of Europe.
Personally, Dogma, I don't believe for a moment you live in any part of Europe.
"allowed [people] who despise everything about us and refuse to live in the 21st century."
Talking about your fellow right-wing phony Christian nutcases are we? In that case, deal~ You can go stop having your rights because you won't leave the rest of us the fuck alone and let us have OURS.
"The Christian Conquest of America"
Call it hypocritical, but we can't give freedom to people who want to use it against us; it's a form of cultural masochism and generations from now, I don't want my family to live in an America plagued by social unrest because we allowed Christian fundamentalists who despise everything about us and refuse to live in the 21st century, into leadership roles in this country.
DISCLAIMER: In no way are these views my own. I was merely pointing out that the Christian extremists in the US are very similar in behavior to the Muslim extremists in the Middle East. Any Christian who quotes this out of context will be summarily pistol-whipped, by order of the author of this quote.
Of course, if you deny freedom to a group, you're making it more likely that that group instigates social unrest, because it's got nothing to lose.
Nice self-fulfilling prophecy you got there.
I don't want my family to live in a Europe plagued by social unrest because we allowed immigrants who despise everything about us and refuse to live in the 21st century.
I know, we have the exact same problem here in the US: fundies that don't want to live in the 21st century. One of them is even running for president.
Call it hypocritical, but we can't give freedom to people who want to use it against us
That's not just hypocritical, it's wrong. You can't deny people freedom just because you don't like what they do with their freedom. Luckily, freedom works both ways: you can't deny fundies their freedom and they (if they get into power) can't deny you yours.
This statement is totally wrong:
"That's not just hypocritical, it's wrong. You can't deny people freedom just because you don't like what they do with their freedom."
Are you familiar with the concept of prison? That's exactly what prison is, denying people freedom because society does not approve of their actions.
Our entire justice system is based on the principle that certain action are forbidden, and that to perform them will result in the loss of your freedom for a period of time that the society deems appropriate.
we can't give freedom to people who want to use it against us
Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! Can we us this against fundie Christians here in the U.S. who want to take away the rights of non-Christians? I distinctly remember hearing them use this argument back when the "ground zero mosque" crap was flying around.
@Anon
That's not entirely true. We put people in prison because their actions cause harm to society. Granted, drug users and exhibitionists are somehow considered harmful to society by people despite the fact that they're not, but that's for another debate. The point is that you can't jail people simply because you don't like what they do, they have to cause some (real or imagined) harm to society. So while you can't kill someone or strip naked on a street corner, you can't be arrested for wearing the wrong color shirt, being a political fundie (religious fundamentalism is covered by freedom of religion), or even being a furry. If an action does not cause harm then it is covered under free expression. Whether or not the legal system actually behaves that way is one thing but that's the basis of US law.
No matter where or when you are, people will always hate immigrants. It's stupid and irrational and harmful and hateful and contradicted by centuries of recorded history, but people across the planet continually believe that other people coming to their land - peacefully and wanting nothing more than to make a better life for themselves and their families - are harbingers of doom. And of course, they will almost certainly ignore that somewhere along the line their ancestors were immigrants, because it's different when THEY do it.
I don't want my family to live in a Europe plagued by social unrest because we allowed immigrants who despise everything about us and refuse to live in the 21st century.
But you're OK with Christian fundies who want the same thing?
Kinda agree. Our freedoms came after we defanged the church. I really wish they had eliminated them, but I guess that's one part of Western freedoms that leaves us prey to the subsets. Our tolerance. Tolerance is a kingpin of democracy, hardly exists in theocracy.
I am Dogma's Demise.
Please excuse my poor wording, but if you actually read the topic you will get a better idea of what I stand for.
My stance is that we shouldn't give visas to foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law.
That is all. Nothing racist about it.
Oh yeah and just to give you an example of what a dishonest FUCK the person who submited me, here's the quote IN FULL:
"Of course not, my suggestion is a psychological examination for anyone applying for citizenship, deportation of those who exhibit traits that are highly incompatible with secularism and freedom.
Call it hypocritical, but we can't give freedom to people who want to use it against us, it's a form of cultural masochism and generations from now, I don't want my family to live in a Europe plagued by social unrest because we allowed immigrants who despise everything about us and refuse to live in the 21st century."
Where the FUCK did mention anything about "interment camps" or whatever bullshit you people come up with?
I just don't want people like these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoMeUcC_M20 in Europe. If that makes me a "fundamentalist atheist", then good luck with that.
It's called having your cake and eating it, anonymous person.
And a few others are cultural jihadists, people like Anjem Choudary. They specifically hope to one day destroy the west from within (culturally speaking, not with bombs or guns, but with political activism and propaganda and the exploitation of lax immigration policies).
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
