[In a discussion about Einstein's theory of relativity]

Other commenters above, if you don't mind, I wonder if any of you would estimate how much time you've spent reading the Bible in this month of March. I ask because I've found that once someone falls for Relativity, they almost never open a Bible again.

I've found that once someone falls for Relativity, they almost never open a Bible again.

That's because Einsteinian relativity has much more explanatory power that your bible.
Science! It works, [expletive].

"Falls for relativity?" Is that supposed to be a pun, Andy?

So, education negates the need for fables? Sounds like a plan to me!

Well, at least lines like this can refute the idea that Einstein endorsed Christianity.

You're right, Schlafly. Once someone falls for science, logic and reason, they almost never go back to fundamentalist religion again.

In short, once someone finds out how interesting reality is, they never need to divert themselves with your addled fiction.

There's a reason for that.

Relativity? Hell, Heliocentric Theory has caused some to doubt the Bible. That's what happens when you declare that the Bible must be taken 100% literally: once people find out that it's wrong about ANYTHING (and there's PLENTY that it's wrong about), people can no longer trust it.

"I've found that once someone falls for Relativity, they almost never open a Bible again"

That tends to happen with any science, actually.

Probably because the bible is a worthless pile of crap.

who would have ever thought that a scientific theory might make more sense than a book written 1900 years ago by a group of bronze age tribesman... surely no one with any sense... oh wait, nevermind.

Sweet Celestia, is this guy still around? You'd think he'd give up by this point, what with being the laughing stock of everyone, everywhere, but it seems self-righteousness is a powerful thing.

Or perhaps those people you refer to just stop looking to the Bible when they want answers about science rather than spiritual matters.

"I ask because I've found that once someone falls for Relativity, they almost never open a Bible again."

Yeah. Relativity. That's what did it for me.

It wasn't that the Bible is largely incoherent, abhorrent, barbaric, illogical, cruel, bizarre, and fucking wrong about nearly everything. Nope. It was because I read about Relativity.

"I ask because I've found that once someone falls for Relativity, they almost never open a Bible again."

Crikey! Some get as far as relativity? As soon as I hit pi, that was it for me, I never opened a bible again. At least in my reality circles are actually round.

The germ theory of disease is actually much more damaging to the literal truth of the bible than Relativity.

Once again, Schlafly misses the boat.

Maybe it's because the Theory of Relativity is based in fact, and the bible is based in fantasy?

Hey Andy, do you still really think that the Theory of Relativity is a liberal plot to allow people to promote abortion?

"I've found that once someone falls for Relativity, they almost never open a Bible again."

Relativity =/= 'Moral Relativism'.

Science =/= Concept, Andy Schaftafly. You - as a supposed 'engineer', of all people - should know this.

I've found that once someone opens a Bible and falls for it's own Moral Relativism...

...they become Timothy McVeigh, Eric Robert Rudolph, and Scott Roeder.

Andy, if there is no such thing as the theory of relativity, then how did the US military manage to wipe two Japanese cities with the map with only two bombs respectively?

Andy believes that the Theory of Relativity is about morality. That's because Andy is a fucking moron and doesn't understand the first thing about science.
The scary part in all of this is that fundie parents are using what this fucking moron says to home school their children.

Hail Celestia! Hail Luna! Hail the Equestrian Diarchy! And buck Andy in his face.

Serious physicists, who also happen to be Christians, should band together to destroy this mendacious moron's idea that "amount of Bible time" means something as far as professional science goes.
