So-called “deconversion stories” is like listening to a criminal justify himself. Criminals have many reasons for the things they do and many explanations for why it is really somebody else’s fault. With all sincerity they tell their sad stories and absolutely none of it is true – they are just blind and self-deluded. If you follow them you are wicked because you are lying against the Creator. Most “atheists” are men – a woman usually has more sense because she has a womb and understands intuitively that the only life brings life. A moron atheist things a space gave birth to a rock that gave birth to people. The absurdity of it not only denies God, it denies life itself and equates dead inanimate objects with living things. Women also understand intuitively that we are not independent – every child needs to be nursed and nurtured. Atheist dummies imagine man has no need of nurture and blessing from God. You have a soul and a spirit and you need God. You have fallen into a tough time of doubt, but God is still God. He doesn’t need to explain himself to you (Job 33:13), you simply need to make a decision that you will just trust him – you know you can do that because he loves you and died to save you. That’s called faith, and that’s your job. Being God is his job.

First. Future commentators will handle this better than I can, so I just have one thing to say.
God, being immortal, cannot possibly die. You lose.
I count ad hominem, false analogy, baseless assertions, more ad hominem, argument from consequences, some bizarre sexism, and a whole field of strawmen. Looks like this is headed for the Top 100.
While I concede that my personal "why I'm an atheist" story hasn't made it yet to PZ Myers' blog, I promise you every word of it is true.
Beyond that, it's your holy book that says that life came from rocks and dust before god breathed life into it. While we don't know exactly how life began, I assure you it was a much more interesting process than that.
And finally, please don't cite the book of Job to justify any pro-god arguments unless you want to be rebutted with "so god is a gullible, easily-manipulated passive-aggressive, asshole."
What part of "evidence is needed to justify a belief" do Americans Christians not understand?
As for your statistic about atheists being mostly men, in certain countries in Northern Europe atheists are in the majority, suggesting that unbelief knows no gender.
"Criminals have many reasons for the things they do and many explanations for why it is really somebody else’s fault."
You mean, like Christians?
I did enjoy "being God is his job." Though how exactly they believe anything follows from that...argh.
The argument as a whole obviously pissed me off. The sincerity --> blindness --> lying progression stuck out as interesting sneakiness.
I'm an atheist, not because of something bad that happened to me, but because I couldn't figure out how the notion of God made any sense at all. Boo hoo.
I'm also a woman, although I confess that I am trans and don't have a womb, so I don't know whether I should count. Not that you'd approve of that either.
You obviously have no idea what atheism is. It isn't anger, it isn't emptiness, it isn't lack of love or anything like that. It is a philosophical position based on the ideas that beliefs must be founded on evidence and/or reason and that all arguments once believed to prove the existence of God have been shown faulty. If you want to believe in God because of faith, well good for you. I don't understand the concept of faith and I don't think I ever will. I get along just fine without it.
But I don't go around comparing people who take different philosophical positions than me to delusional criminals. I suppose that's what makes me an absurd atheist, right? The fact that I want to speak reasonably and without pathetic personal attacks?
So let me get this straight...
If I were to cut my cock and balls off, and gouge out a vag and uterus, I will miraculously become religious?
I looked at the Blushing Tomato blog. The thread that quigley responded to was a young woman who is looking for answers to some questions that are difficult for her. She comes across as very sincere and she is respectful of other points of view.
Quig comes at her with shit like this twice. What a fucking asshole.

A moron christian thinks dust gave birth to a man whose rib bone became a woman. You have a mind and a brain and you need evidence. You have fallen into a tough time of doubt, but facts are still facts.
Fixed.
This reminds of the "Atheists Eat Babies" story I read a few years ago, which somehow claimed that a person turning away from Christianity (because atheists totally don't reject all other religions as well) used the same justifications as someone who plans to eat babies. It was hilarious and horrifying, much like this one.
@Mayhem
Good one. Wish I thought of it.

I feel the same way about apologists trying to interpret the atrocities in the Bible.
I've yet to meet anybody, atheist or otherwise, who "things(sic) a space gave birth to a rock that gave birth to people."
That some people are born with an empty space between their ears is however much more obvious. It happens all too often, and we call the result a "fundie."
"Atheist dummies" imagine man has need of nurture and blessing from other human beings, that actually exist.
I have a womb and understand intuitively that no life has been brought from it, just blood and cramps.
Macky, you do realize that we deny all other deities as well, right? Right?
The way you feel about Durga and Freya is the way we feel about your god.
"With all sincerity they tell their sad stories and absolutely none of it is true"
1. Not all bloody atheists had a tragic event to explain their atheism
2. As someone who did have a sad story in their childhood, that is totally true & that possibly contributed to my atheism, FUCK YOU ASSHOLE. WITH A RUSTY PIKE. ARGH!
3. I am a woman you lose.
"So-called “deconversion stories” is like listening to a criminal justify himself."
Ooh! Is it? I didn't know that. Of course, I've never been deconverted nor do I know anybody who has been deconverted, so why would I know? I was born a human, as was everyone else I know, so I have to bow to your superior knowledge in the area of child brainwashing/abusing as a method of de-atheizing.
Maybe the fact that so many maniacal lunatics have left our shores to try their luck in distant lands has left us impoverished in some ways.
O woe is me! It looks like I'll never be able to be converted now. It seems as though the gentle Christians will be condemned to gnash their teeth in frustration as the realization dawns on them that they'll have to suffer their gullibility alone, without the comfort of being able to convert me or other atheists.
The truth is, atheism is a kind of magic. It is like a protective amulet that makes one impervious to attacks by rabid religionists (that's gotta hurt). It is like a cloak of invisibility that lets the wearer slip through the ranks of raging paternalists as though they presented no obstacle at all. It is like a lucky charm that wards off the malevolence of evil gods and repels the bigotry of their moronic henchmen.
"Being God is his job."
Well, all I know is that the local God quit His job a while back and relocated to more fruitful climes. I've heard that He is now the local God in a different locale.
Atheist dummies imagine man has no need of nurture and blessing from God.
No, atheists claim no one actually gets nurture and blessing from God. Deists, who believe God exists, claim that if anyone actually gets nurture and blessing from God, it has nothing to do with anything they believed or did.
you simply need to make a decision that you will just trust him
And how is that different from just ignoring Him? Just because I trust that the sun will rise tomorrow doesn't mean I have any say in the matter.
Ah, yes, the Book of Job... The one where God turns Job's life into one disaster after another because it would be fun to make a bet with the Devil about how Job would react. Perhaps that's not the best example of why God doesn't need to explain himself.
I have nothing to say about the rest of this that hasn't been discussed over and over ad nauseum for longer than I care to think.
"Space gave birth to a rock that gave birth to people" and this is called "absurd". Granted that it is absurd, but here is an even more absurd proposition: "An invisible, omniscient, omnipotent entity created man and the world for unknown reasons, and, after the angels he created to worship him rebelled against him (which he should have been able to foresee, being omniscient) he created a Hell for them to dwell in. Next he got pissed off with his creations because they were making too much noise or something, so he decided to wipe them all out with a flood, except a few. Later he decided to pick on a guy called Abraham, probably because he was bored, and trolled him by telling him he would be the father of a great nation in Israel. Just to test him, and for further lulz, he asked him to sacrifice his son to him. Later he looked down and saw that a guy called Job was happy, so he decided to fuck up his life.
Later still, in perhaps the strangest move of all, he decided to impregnate a virgin in order to incarnate himself as a man and have himself executed, in a bizarre sacrifice of himself to himself, thus, somehow, in a way that is never explained, saving mankind from having to be tortured eternally in that hell which was one of his first creations." Now that really is absurd.
Doesn't it all remind you of the voice of a child molester? "You need daddy. You have fallen into a rough time of doubt, but daddy is still daddy. He doesn't need to explain himself to you, you simply need to make a decision that you will just trust him- you know you can do that because he loves you. That's called being a good girl, and that's your job. Being Daddy is his job. Now roll up your nightdress and don't cry. We don't want to wake mommy."
Okay, so take...
"So-called “deconversion stories” is like listening to a criminal justify himself."
A strawman base...
"If you follow them you are wicked because you are lying against the Creator."
Simmer it in ad hominem sauce...
"Most “atheists” are men a woman usually has more sense because she has a womb and understands intuitively that the only life brings life."
Season it lightly with a little female chauvenism...
"A moron atheist things..."
Simmer it again in ad hominem sauce, then bast it in ignorance and put it in the oven...
"He doesn’t need to explain himself to you (Job 33:13), you simply need to make a decision that you will just trust him you know you can do that because he loves you and died to save you. That’s called faith, and that’s your job. Being God is his job"
And finally, glaze the cooked dish with circular reasoning, Bible brand, mixed of course with just a pinch of religious fascism, and you have a dish worthy to turn that filthy, heathenous non-believer back into a Christian, err, not really.
We don't think with our wombs or our hearts. I'm not discounting the role of intuition in studyong the origins of life, but a whole lot of lab work is involved , too:
Elizabeth H. Blackburn, Carol W. Greider and Jack W. Szostak will share the $1.4 million Nobel Prize in Medicine. (They)synthesized chains of nucleic acids that can latch onto other nucleic acid chains (including copies of themselves) and partially copy those chains. On the early Earth, reproducing chains of nucleic acids could have formed within vesicles composed of fatty acids, which could have been plentiful in certain places.
"A moron atheist things a space gave birth to a rock that gave birth to people."
A moron theist thinks nothing gave birth to god who made dirt that he used to make people.
Not surprising that this moron thinks the Theory of Evolution is " things a space gave birth to a rock that gave birth to people."

I

Woman, gave birth three times, no abortions, functioning womb, birth control user - ATHEIST!
"So-called “deconversion stories” is like listening to a criminal justify himself."
I had been read fairy stories most of my young life, when I finally found out the story behind this "Jesus" guy, I recognised it for what it was.
End of.
