Quote# 86988

I began warning about Barack Obama’s dictatorial ambitions before he even won the 2008 presidential election. Now, finally, more people are beginning to take this possibility as a serious threat.

Obama’s recent contention that it would be “unprecedented” for the Supreme Court to overrule congressional legislation had dictatorship written all over it. It was, quite obviously, an ignorant slip on his part.

Rather than lashing out with absurd statements like this, the Marxmeister does much better when he follows the far-left playbook and innocently feigns indignation over anything that isn’t to his liking. Or when he vilifies his natural enemies – primarily Republicans, the “rich” and tea partiers.

Targeting the Supreme Court showed a lack of self-discipline in adhering to his well-planned stealth-Marxism strategy. His angry, careless remark must have given chest pains to cheerleading, brainless Obamaviks everywhere.

[...]

I will say yet again what I have been saying for more than three years: If polls indicate that Obama is going to win the upcoming election, no problem. He’ll keep flashing that fake Barry Obama grin until Nov. 7, then move swiftly to begin unleashing a dictatorial full monty – consisting of more regulations, higher taxes and less freedom – that will shock all but his staunchest Marxist allies.

Nothing will be off limits – a national police force, instant citizenship for all Third World people who want to come to America, forced equalization of income (except for Obama’s wealthy supporters), widespread use of tax audits to carry out vendettas against enemies of his administration, a virtual end to oil drilling, coal mining and gas exploration, suspension of habeas corpus, a new sedition act that will make it a crime to speak out against the government, the police, or the military … and much, much more.

I really don't get why these people can't seem to, if nothing else, grasp that the president doesn't really have the authority to do most of the shit they claim Obama's going to do, or has done or whatever.

Question for USian history buffs: has the Supreme Court ever overruled congressional legislation?

Ringer, you forgot to tell us the REAL reason you hate him.
He's a negro.
I personaly find him pathetic because he caves in to the demands of rethuglicans.
He folds like a laundry slave.

Oh no, a national police force! Quick, run for your lifes!!1

I guess this guy never heard of the FBI (FEDERAL Bureau of Investigation), or the fact that all other first-world nations have national police forces.

Extraintrovert

There already is a national police force, habeus corpus was practically spat all over during Bush Jr's administration, during said administration the Patriot Act was passed and nearly anyone who spoke against the President was outright called a traitor (especially by FOX), and Republicans have more rich supporters (both by numbers and money) than any Democrat could ever possibly hope to have.

I'm not a fan of Obama. He's given too little pressure to too many important issues, and outright abandoned too many others, but the simple fact that he has managed to endure four years of this fuckery with a completely straight face more than qualifies him for another term. The man has the patience of a damn saint.

Doubting Thomas

Obama’s recent contention that it would be “unprecedented” for the Supreme Court to overrule congressional legislation had dictatorship written all over it.

If he actually said anything of this sort, it would be stupid because overturning unconstitutional legislation is the Supreme Court's job. But even if they do, what can Obama do about it? Nothing. Balance of power, beotches.

Targeting the Supreme Court showed a lack of self-discipline

Then the GOP is totally undisciplined, since they're always complaining about "activist judges."

Yeah, Obama can just suspend all our rights with the stroke of a pen. You really should go back to school and take a government civics class and learn how our government really works. Not to mention that you conspiracy nuts were saying this about Clinton and I think even W a few years ago.

Surprised you didn't mention THEY'RE COMING FOR OUR GUNS, though.

If he's a dictator, why didn't he strike when he had a congress and senate that supported him?

Kevin Klawitter

"Mr. Lincoln harps constantly on this subject of equality. He repeats over and over the argument used by Lovejoy and other abolitionists to it -- that the Declaration of Independence having declared all men free and equal by divine law, thus, Negro equality is an inalienable right. Contrary to this stands the verdict of the Supreme Court in the case of Dred Scott. Mr. Lincoln is a lawyer and I presume therefore that he knows that when he seeks to destroy public confidence in the integrity, the inviolability of the Supreme Court, he is preaching revolution. He asks me to state my opinion of the Dred Scott decision, and I answer him unequivocally by saying I take the decisions of the Supreme Court to be the law of the land, and I intend to obey them as such; nor will I be swayed from that position by all the ranting of all the fanatics who preach racial equality -- who would ask us to vote, eat, sleep, and marry with Negroes."

If I wanted to become dictator of the US I wouldn't run for president. Too many rules, too many people that your powers are filtered through, and you get at most 8 years. If I wanted to become dictator of the US I would attempt to be someone who influences the president, not someone who is the president for

Even if he did plan to be dictatorial, Republican Congresspeople would still gang up on the Democratic Congresspeople and vote no to everything simply for coming from someone who isn't one of theirs. Not to mention that Percy showed he's done stuff Shrub Jr. couldn't do in eight years, especially with Osama and a hurricane. The second Great Depression, by the way, would have been Shrub Jr.'s fault anyway due to his idea that severely lowering income is good for the economy even though it ended up with a broke country that he didn't bother to fix before his second term ended.

Oh, and he has a Dunkin Donuts box in that picture. Had a lot of that when I was in Massachusetts in 2008 and last year since there aren't any around here. Good taste, Mr. President.

Love how these nuts think that massive global conspiracies, reaching as high as the heads of sovereign nations and multi-billionaires, can be unraveled by casual free-association ramblings made by basement-bound CHUDs in tinfoil turbans.
