Quote# 8711

[This poster is a Christian]

An unbiased study of the Quran shows that far from being a "miracle", that book is a hoax. The Quran is replete with scientific heresies, historic blunders, mathematical mistakes, logical absurdities, grammatical errors and ethical fallacies. Could possibly the author of this Universe be as ignorant as it appears to be in the Quran?

This is possibly the single most deserving post for the \"Pot and Kettle\" award that I have ever seen.

Yeah, it's even better than that last one about Muslims fighting eachother. It continues to boggle my mind how fundies can overlook their religion's glaring issues.

You know, I am thisclose to registering on that forum, blockquoting that excerpt, and saying \"Dude, have you even READ the Bible?\" If I weren't in the middle of packing my clothes up for vacation, I probably would.

Grammatical errors? Somehow, I doubt this dude has the expertise in Classical Arabic to judge that.

\"Pot and Kettle Prize\" is almost too tame an award for this one; it begs the creation of a \"Blinding Hypocrisy Award\" (or, better yet, a \"Speck and Plank Award\").

David, \"Speck and Plank\" would be more appropriate if the number and severity of gaffes in the Bible were significantly greater than those in the Qu'ran. I don't have the knowledge of the Qu'ran to say whether that's true or not, but I'd be surprised if it's a significant difference either way.

Excellent point. Well, then, let's just save that one up for another post that's more appropriately deserving. There's bound to be one sooner or later (probably sooner).

Well just chucking something in here.

The skeptics annotated bible wrt the Quran has 15 entries for scientific or historical grievancies, a few of which can be mistranslations.

It has 249 for the bible!

Shit, you just triggered an overflow in the Irony subroutine. Way to go, crashing the universe. Give me a few minutes (won't seem like any time has passed to you, since you're crashed) and I'll fix the problem.

Okay, got it. Universe v0.7.3.1 up and running. Changes: Fixed a fatal bug in Irony.

Hmm. Now the couple of extra binary spaces allocated to Irony's output is causing a lot of strain on the server, given how many times a minute that function is called on. Dammit.

Ah yes, the Bible is so superior to the Quran. It has so many important scientifically accurate facts, such as Pi = 3, the earth is flat, etc.

So, their flawed document is a lie... but your equally-if-not-more-so flawed document is the absolute truth?

Hypocrisy of this level should be painful.
