Or maybe he's just smart enough to see through the bullshit.

Poor Sam, he's got the same affliction that affects 99% of the folks on most of the \"fundie\" boards; a severe lack of the ability to recognize reality and think with any semblance of empathy or rationality.

Actually, Jones is a well-established Christian, a conservative Republican, and a former Boy Scout leader; these are among the criteria that got him his appointment by Bush in the first place. But despite these flaws, at least the man showed great sense and professionalism in this ruling.

Concur, David.
That's the mark of a man who deserves to be a judge - he put aside his own personal beliefs in order to render a ruling according to the laws as currently written.

These whiny-ass titty-baby fundies can never take it like a man. Always looking for a bogyman when things don't go their way, even if it means turning on their own. They can't, even for a moment, see that their freedom to worship as they see fit is based on this same constitution that keeps the state from backing any religion or religious stance. Don't like evolution...hey, you can go to one of your OWN private schools or homeschool. Do one or the other, but just STFU!

Kind of a "no true Scotsman" argument too. Anyone who disagrees with him can't be what he considers a christian.

By the way, any charges laid on these guys yet? They snuck a creation book into the school, against school policy, went to court and lied about the books donater and denied the book had any Christian Creation origins.
I'm not recommending jail but hefty fines are in order with a suspended jail term on record
