Um, because we like to think that we are better than them?

Do you actually mean 58?
Or, is the truth closer to zero?

Why shouldn't we ban Islam?
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
1st Amendment, The Constitution of the United States of America, 1789
You see that there? That's a fucking citation...learn it.

The only reason those things (which are, I quite agree, horrible) are happening is because of theocracy. Not religion, theocracy - the replacement of a state with a church. The reason it will never happen in the United States is because we accept all religions here, as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others. What you are suggesting is no better than what they are doing right now.
And frankly, your holy man agrees with me. "You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well." - Jesus, Matthew 5:38-40. According to your own holy book, you should be forgiving your enemies.

Well to be fair, Ben Joyner is right about Christians being killed. Perhaps not in those numbers, but Nigeria is an excellent example. Of course along with the Nigeria example comes the number of non Christians that the local Christians kill each year. Both Sides have been slaughtering each other in a tit for tat revenge war for ages.

Thank you very much for expressing exactly what I wanted to convey in a method that was calm, rational and evidence-based. We need more people like you here.
@Old Viking
Yes, because that worked so well for the Soviet Union and China. Ben Joyner is an idiot because they rail against oppression and persecution of people and then thinks the answer is oppression and persecution directed against a slightly different group of people. Don't fall into that same fallacy.

Cam I point out that Muslim apostates get the same treatment (in such places where this happens) if they become Hindus, Buddhists, Ba'hais or indeed atheists?
Has anybody got any better information on the 105,000 pa and 57 nations claims? (The latter sounds like it's pulled off a Heinz sauce bottle).

Read the Contitution of the US. It's all in there in the First Amendment.
BTW, the correct way to address the Queen is not by her given name. It's 'Your Majesty' on the first occasion. Thereafter it's Ma'am. And you only speak when you are spoken to.

First: Citation needed on the killed christians being killed for their beliefs, and not, lets say, in a robbery or something.
Second: Do you really want to go down to their level and allow them to use the same arguments against you?
What is with "Love thy neighbour" and "Love thy enemy"?

So, tell me again why we should NOT ban religions in our Country
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The motherfucking Constitution of the United States, bitch.

So, tell me again why we should NOT ban religions in our Country that are actively engaged in genocide of the Christians
Because we'd like to think that we're better than other countries that have theocracies and don't want to devolve into the crappy hell holes that those countries are. That, and that "goddamned piece of paper" the U.S. Constitution which guarantees freedom of religion for everyone, not just you.

"So, tell me again why we should NOT ban religions in our Country that are actively engaged in genocide of the Christians in Africa, Middle East, and the Islamic crescent of states?"
Amendment I of the United States Constitution.
I don't really think you should need more reason than that.

Christians have committed murders right here in the US. By your own logic, we should ban Christianity.
Similarly, by your logic, if you can hold one Muslim guilty of the crimes of other Muslims thousands of miles away, we can hold you guilty of the crimes of other Christians committed elsewhere.
Think about it, Ben.

You're right, Ben. Of course, with the LRA trying to kill everyone, be they Christian, Muslim, or anything else in Africa, that means Christianity will have to be banned as well.
