On the question of wether homo sapiens are apes,
Yes, we are closely related genetically and have strong physical resemblance.
No, enlarged frontal lobe (giving us stronger problem solving skills among other things) and walking upright put us into a new category.
Rather than duck, bird. I'd suggest penguin, bird. Bringing up Grey Wolf, Tea Cup Poodle, could get interesting.
I have no problem with being an ape, so long as I get to be a human one.

This is the sort of logic that really confuses me, because even without believing in evolution, there is no arguing that, genetically, humans ARE classified as apes. We can SEE their DNA, there's no guess work here.
