Quote# 87640

How God tortures will be up to him. There will be millions in hell that never heard the gospel, like the Indians, ect...so maybe they won't be tortured as bad. Then take teens, whenever they pass age of accountability, say 13, probably a few million have died over time before they reached 18, who knows had they lived longer they may have accepted, so maybe they will get a break. Millions are born in cultures and by birth taught something else and will believe it, so they shouldn't get the worse levels.

Course, think about the Jews duing WW2 and how surprised they will be. Over 6 million, 95% loved God more than most, but like most still waiting for the Messiah and didn't accept Christ. I'm sure they were sincere, being tortured by the Nazi's. To them their only hope was God. Can you imagine how they will feel, to go through all that torture on earth and then face the God they prayed too and he'll place them in eternal hell where Hitler's torture won't compare....probably just part of the generational curse on the Jews, but I would think they would be tortured less, because they loved God, but why should they get less, they denied Christ. In reality the majority of Jews will face eternal torture.

Really, with probably 80% of people going to hell, they all go for not accepting the gospel. I would assume God chooses who goes there. Face it, if you or I was born in Iran, we would be Muslim, so we're lucky to be born in the USA.

I don't see any levels in hell, but some believe it. Just be glad you're not going, to face torment on a level man has never done to man, where a trillion years is not even a second. We all will have many family members there which is sad, but God will erase them from our minds so there will be no tears in heaven, only pure joy.

You have created God in your own image, and damn!- he's ugly!

You disgrace the name of James Armistead, cunt. I do not use that word lightly.

"How God tortures will be up to him. *Gives entire list of how and why God will torture*"

How the hell can someone be this stupid?

I mean, the cruelty is novel enough, but completely contradicting yourself right out of the gate like that? That's some grade-A stupidity right there.

This is why your God is a sick bastard.

Yeah, all those examples make the concept of hell pretty absurd, don't they?

Mister Spak

Islam is the real religion, so imagine how surprised you'll be when you are sent to be tortured. Too bad you weren't born in Iran.

I hope you have never worked on the Sabbath, or wore clothes of mixed fabrics, or cut your hair and beard, or told a lie. If you have, you'll be down with the rest of us sinners, being tormented, and erased from the memory of your relatives.

These sad sick fucks. Trying to deny the glee they feel when fantasizing the torture of their fellow human beings

6/4/2012 5:26:08 AM

Ironic isn't it? All those good people of other religions are sent to hell-- including god's chosen people (go figure). Meanwhile, some Christians are complete bastards for their entire lives but go to heaven because they remember to repent just before dying. Hitler was tricky like that, he probably repented as the bullet was tearing through his brain. Most death row inmates repent too. So don't worry when you get to heaven and find you're rooming with Hitler, John Wayne Gasey, Ted Bundy and a general assortment of pricks. Remember, god will erase your mind so you can enjoy trillions upon trillions of years of pure mindless joy.

This mindset is terrifying. Brrr.

So... according to you, your "loving" god looks at the fucking Nazis torturing a bunch of people and goes "meh, those guys are amateurs"?

Why do you strike me as the sort of person who whacks off to torture porn?

If heaven and hell even exist (which I highly doubt), fundies like Armistead14 make the case pretty clear. I choose hell.

How magnanimous. A real peach that one. The ones who never even had a chance of salvation don't get tortured AS BAD. Truly, this is a God of Love.

Then take teens, whenever they pass age of accountability, say 13...
Read: stop being cute and precocious.

...probably a few million have died over time before they reached 18, who knows had they lived longer they may have accepted, so maybe they will get a break.
So they'll turn down the temperature in the lake of fire if you die before you're 18? Again, this is such a compassionate, kind God you worship.

Millions are born in cultures and by birth taught something else and will believe it, so they shouldn't get the worse levels.
Believing something because you're taught it from birth. You wouldn't know anything on that, would you?

Course, think about the Jews duing WW2 and how surprised they will be. Over 6 million, 95% loved God more than most, but like most still waiting for the Messiah and didn't accept Christ.
First, WILL BE implies they have yet to pass away. You're looking for "were." Second, Godwin.

Think about that for a second. God...will condemn people who knew nothing but misery and pain in life...to an even worse torment. And not just because they were eeeeevil atheists, no, but because they didn't think his sock puppet was their messiah. And you can say this with a straight face.

Really, with probably 80% of people going to hell, they all go for not accepting the gospel.
80%, wow...I love how the number shifts so wildly, depending on when you wanna be the majority, or an oppressed minority.

I would assume God chooses who goes there. Face it, if you or I was born in Iran, we would be Muslim, so we're lucky to be born in the USA.
Yup. And guess what? You'd be screeching the same tired drumline about the Western Devils over here.

I don't see any levels in hell, but some believe it.
Just trying to hold a middle ground between God's "righteous" wrath, and making yourself feel better about thinking about many people being tormented for all eternity.

Just be glad you're not going, to face torment on a level man has never done to man, where a trillion years is not even a second.
SCHAAAAAADENFREUDE...

We all will have many family members there which is sad, but God will erase them from our minds so there will be no tears in heaven, only pure joy.
And the cherry on top. Not only will he torture Aunt Ethel for not ponying up enough at the collection plate, he'll scrub her from your mind. A real peach, that one.

Holy crap.

Not everyday you see someone admitting that the god they worship arbitrarily tosses people into eternal torture with no justice or mercy to be had.

Long before I was an atheist, I was a Christian.

"There will be millions in hell that never heard the gospel, like the Indians, ect...so maybe they won't be tortured as bad."

And that, right there, was one of the major -- I dare say nine-inch -- nails in the coffin of my faith. Someone who's never even heard the gospel "might not be tortured as bad"? And I'm supposed to believe there's a merciful god at work here?

Fuck you.

It sounds like the concept of equal ultimacy is at work here. That would be the VERY Calvinist precept that God predestined both the elect AND the wretched from the beginning (read: before even Satanel was created...who was meant to be consigned to perdition from the onset, of course). The idea seems to be that free will of any measure cannot coexist with divine omnipotence--and perfect glory REQUIRES omnipotence. So...

In essence, perdition is not for the sake of justice, but for the sake of better portraying God's power. And yes, there's been at least one theologian (probably more; of the one I'm thinking of, I can't remember his name, though) who said that God, to be true to his nature and keep every last bit of it exalted, must be able to visit wrath on SOMETHING. So, if you were wondering what the point of Hell would be if the elect are mindwiped (i.e. why not just create the elect in Heaven, don't bother with Hell and/or the wretched, and be done with it?), it's expressly and solely to reflect the glory of God's wrath and power back to him. Equal ultimacy basically says that all of creation is nothing more than a project to remind God of his own (alleged) perfection.

It should tell you something that Fred Phelps is a resolute champion of equal ultimacy...

This right here is the ultimate plan. They have just described how they will torture people who don't agree with them if they were ever to get into power. Only an authoritarian could think that torture is good.

Filin De Blanc

This brilliantly illustrates the selfishness behind the fundamentalist mindset: "we'll all have family members being eternally, horrifically tortured, and yeah, that's sad and all, but I've got mine so who cares really?"
