Quote# 87724

yes, they [men] are the problem, and womyn will have to realise this. Men are the carriers of a Y chromosome that makes them the way they are, I believe. Womyn have to be strongly aware of the posibility of men’s inherent sadism and cruelty.

Heterosexuality is NOT natural for womyn. It has been forced, imposed and indoctrinated upon them via malestream customs and culture. Womyn who want to be free seriously have to consider overcoming heteropatriarchal conditioning.

As a radical lesbian separatist, I tend to advocate that womyn separate from men as much as they can (either to become lesbians or spinsters). Considering the world-wide gynocides that are currently happening in pornography, prostitution, harmful ‘beauty’ practices of femininity, trans-politics, reproductive technologies, and (in the non-Western world) FGM, abortion of baby girls, etc, it is clear that womyn are safer without men.

Trust me, you feel a lot better and freer when you practise everyday separatism and womyn-centrism (while keeping an eye on what’s happening in the world). (Of course I recommend this as much as it can be possible within the life of each individual womyn)

[...]

Personally, I often imagine that, maybe one day we could all live in an all-female world and we could somehow find a way to reproduce via parthenogenesis (e.g. as in Nicola Griffith’s Lesbian Utopia novel Ammonite, or Katherine V. Forrest’s Daughters of a Coral Dawn, another Lesbian Utopia). There have been compelling scientific proofs that men, because of their Y chromosomes, are doomed to extinction anyway…

.... hasn't that been old since the eighties?

I think I'll hide behind Alice Schwarzer, my countrys most famous feminist, and let them fight it out with each other.

"Heterosexuality is NOT natural for womyn. It has been forced, imposed and indoctrinated upon them via malestream customs and culture. Womyn who want to be free seriously have to consider overcoming heteropatriarchal conditioning."

Heteropatriarchal?

If any of you are Viz readers this will instantly bring to mind a character called Millie Tant.

I had no idea such people actually existed. Sigh.

Men will only become extinct when someone invents the dildo that can mow the lawn and open jars.

Thank you for being a separatist.

The idea that "all men are wicked" and that every woman who has even the most loving or pleasurable encounter with one is thereby defeated, sullied, and enslaved is as good as saying that women are, inherently, "the weaker sex" and that in any society that contains both sexes, their oppression and subjection to the double standard is natural and inevitable. That is entirely in accord wih the Taliban and the Tealiban both, and it's exactly the concept that sane men and women have been trying to overthrow.

The "vicious Y chromosome does not exist. My animals are not usually fixed (only when concern for their health or well-being compels it), and although I have had one male dog (and two females) murderous to his own sex, even the alpha-male-fights are usually just harmless blow-ups. My big old buck hound-lab mixes have been mellow types who have frequently been henpecked, and my two big tomcats have been styled Uncle Toms because of their fondness for kittens. The larger of them, when a kitten becomes exploratory, actually fishes for them by curling and flicking his tail enticingly, and then playing with them and washing their ears when they are lured out. My rooster does go on the muscle...but he has not one Y chromosome. In birds, the male is the XX.

Female tyranny is as bad as male tyranny, and it's frequently directed at other women. Get over it.

Odd, I thought the Y chromosome's ability to self-repair was exactly what prevented male mammals from becoming extinct.

Crazy bitch. Never has the term been so fitting.

Men are doomed to extinction, yet have been a part of most, if not all, multicellular life on the planet since the Pre-Cambrian?

Let me know how that works out...

This is all laughably funny and naive.

Maybe we should introduce them to one of the misogynist forums quoted here. Then we'd really get some interesting quotes between them.

"Heterosexuality is NOT natural for womyn. It has been forced, imposed and indoctrinated upon them via malestream customs and culture. Womyn who want to be free seriously have to consider overcoming heteropatriarchal conditioning."

Wait. Is she actually intimating that heterosexuality is a male conspiracy? Rather than, you know, a simple necessity for reproduction since the earliest days of mankind, and earlier?

Not to dump on homosexual love, because I enjoy that too, but it's really only been a few decades that we've had access to the ability to continue the species without a male and female coming together, and even then artificial insemination generally requires a male... donation.

I could go on, but it's pretty clear this one is crazy.

EXCUSE me? I'm doomed to extinction, because of my Y chromosome? Yeah, I don't think so, crazy.

And is your "E" key broken like half the time? Jesus.

To deliberately misspell the word women to keep the word men out of it.

Completely bonkers. Nuff said.

You fail biology, history, politics, sociology, etymology- y'know what? You fail everything forever. Just go brick yourself up in the basement of your local women's-only fitness centre. You'll be happier there, and I KNOW we'll be happier with you there.

So is she agreeing with the religious right that the psychiatrists are wrong: that homosexuality is a "lifestyle choice" and it's possible to "convert" a straight person to homosexuality?

BTW, "woman" comes from "wyf-man". Since "wyf" meant female, does that mean wyf-man meant "female male"? Of course not. The original Anglo-Saxon root "man" was gender-neutral. It meant "female person". The linguistic sexism actually occurred in making "men" a synonym for "males", not in calling females "women".

Did someone open the doors of all the lunatic asylums at once?

BTW, Womyn is not standard English. It is a nonsensical way of making a non-sense. (See! I can play that misspelling game too.) This kind of point-scoring is something I associate with man-hating harridans and hags.

Ya know what, Maggie? All of us here in the real world that recognise that human beings are all individuals, capable of good and bad, wish you and your ilk would separate ... Go live on island somewhere and work on that parthogenesis thing, okay?
