[On a poll about whether to teach Creationism, Evolution, Both, or Neither. This fundie voted for Creationism]

Let me simply say this. okay, Creationism may be religion, but what was this country founded on? CHRISTIANITY! IT is in the constitution! Creationism used to be taught in schools! There never used to be a "public school" or "christian school", the school was run by the church! And if we evolved from monkeys, why are we still humans? why haven't we evolved into something bigger and better? And why are monkeys still around? And for all of those people who believe in the "big bang" , well if there was no life, then how did anyone/anything cause earth to just appear? It can't happen!!! And when people are dying, why else would they say or point to where they're going, Heaven, if it wasn't real? some dying people are so out of it they can't remember their name, yet they can point to where they're going!! Neither Creationism nor evolution has been proven, but look at what America WAS founded on. Christianity. And how could anyone be athiest or not believe, and/or hate something they've never seen? U just have to believe! u don't have to live perfect as some people think! Pray sometime, be sure to ask him to show his existence by answering that prayer and see what happens. HE IS REAL!!! But i'm not going to sit here and argue, considering i'd be arguing and getting nowhere because lost people simply don't like to cooperate. But you'll find out when you die, And at least Christianity and creationism teaches LOVE and RESPECT to our children, not HATE like ATHEISM!!!

This entire wall of text is so cliche laden that I can't even bring myself to read it. Seriously, my eyes glaze over after the first sentence.

Atheissimo

This.... This is incredible

It reads like a perfect 'Baby's first Christian Fallacy' quote. I think every single one of the dumbest tropes is in here.

All of your questions can be explained. Though the one about life arising is a bit of guesswork. There are answers. But I bet my boots you would not understand. Try harder. You are wrong.

Out.

Pray sometime, be sure to ask him to show his existence by answering that prayer and see what happens.

Thought for the day:
The doctrine of the material efficacy of prayer reduces the Creator to a cosmic bellhop of a not very bright or reliable kind. -Herbert J. Muller, educator, historian, and author (1905-1980)

"Can't you understand that if you take a theory like Creationism and you make it a crime to teach it in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools? And tomorrow you may make it a crime to read about it. And soon you may ban churches and bibles.

And then you may turn physicist against biologist. Chemist against geologist. And biologist against biologist. And then try to foist your own science upon the mind of man. If you can do one, you can do the other, because curiosity and intellect are forever busy, and need feeding. And soon, your honour, with banners flying and with drums beating, we'll be marching forward. Forward! Through the glorious ages of the 21st century, when people no longer burned each other for holding opposing viewpoints."

With apologies to Drummond / Darrow.

I vote "Evolution Only".
Reason? This Guy.

Seriously, the ignorance doesn't just go away if you relabel it "knowledge".

"Creationism may be religion, but what was this country founded on? CHRISTIANITY! IT is in the constitution! "

Show me where the words 'Jesus" 'bible' or 'christian' is in the constitution.

You can't. But you can find where religious tests are prohibited.

"Creationism used to be taught in schools!"

White supremecy used to be taught in schools! That means niggers can't be president because they were born in Kenya!

" And if we evolved from monkeys, why are we still humans? why haven't we evolved into something bigger and better?"

Some of us have, and some of us are still creationists.

"And why are monkeys still around? "

If your myth is true, why is dirt still around?

"And for all of those people who believe in the "big bang" , well if there was no life, then how did anyone/anything cause earth to just appear? "

How did anyone/anything cause your so called god to just appear? It can't happen!!!

"And when people are dying, why else would they say or point to where they're going, Heaven, if it wasn't real?"

Why would people say they're going to allah, if he's not real?

" look at what America WAS founded on. Christianity."

Did you find those 3 words in the constitution yet?

" And how could anyone be athiest or not believe, and/or hate something they've never seen?"

Like you and allah?

"And at least Christianity and creationism teaches LOVE and RESPECT to our children, not HATE like ATHEISM!!! "

That explains why you lot KILL DOCTORS and HATE GAYS!!!!!

SaneChick

Perhaps you should read the Constitution sometime, learn what the word "atheist" means, and research the history of public schools in the US.

Oh, dabbling in evolution might help too.

6/20/2012 5:29:07 AM

Robespierre

Sure. It's atheists who think that children are little sinful beasts rightfully bound to hell and damnation.

George Washington is well-known for wanting to be like a second Cincinnatus.

Cincinnatus was not a Christian, and lived long before Christianity even existed.

The United States was made a democratic republic, like similar governments in ancient Greece and Rome.

Ancient Greece and Rome were not Christian, either.

Christianity may have been given as a reason for the Founding Fathers to believe in equality, and for them to approve of democracy over monarchy and aristocracy, but it is NOT in any way part of the Constitution. Otherwise, Article VI wouldn't exist, and there would be laws against coveting. :)

Creationism may be religion

Then it is barred from public schools by the Constitution. Full stop.

what was this country founded on? CHRISTIANITY! IT is in the constitution!

No it was not. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say anything even remotely like that. Then there's the Treaty of Tripoli, and 200+ years of constitutional law.

Creationism used to be taught in schools!

Maybe it was--that doesn't mean that it was legal. It was unconstitutional then, too.

evolution...big bang...near-death experiences

Those questions have already been answered long ago. Look it up.

Neither Creationism nor evolution has been proven

Equivocation. Evolution has met the test of science, and passed. Creationism has not. Guess which one gets to be taught in science class?

U just have to believe!

So are you a Muslim? Why not? You just have to believe!

But i'm not going to sit here and argue, considering i'd be arguing and getting nowhere

Yeah, I can imagine you don't do well in debates.

because lost people simply don't like to cooperate.

It's not our job to make your position easier to defend.

at least Christianity and creationism teaches LOVE and RESPECT

Yeah, I can tell how much love and respect you have for the rest of us.

It's like every cliche rolled into a tight, convenient & profoundly stupid & repulsive package! Poe, perhaps?

So close! But you forgot to include the part about dogs giving birth to cats and didn't even try to mention Hitler. You get a B- for bullshit content and an F for bullshit effort.

Dr. Razark

"...i'd be arguing and getting nowhere..."

That's not a failing in the people you argue with. That's a failing in your arguments. From reading the rest of your comments, I can see why you would get nowhere with your arguments.

My Fundie to English translator comes out with:

"Let me simply say this. okay, Creationism may be religion, but what was this country founded on? CHRISTIANITY!"

I'm certain someone has pointed this out already, but Treaty of Tripoli. Look it up.

"Creationism used to be taught in schools!"

When all you've got is pseudoscience, that's all that you can teach.

"And if we evolved from monkeys, why are we still humans? why haven't we evolved into something bigger and better?"

Evolution doesn't work in terms of "bigger" and "better". It isn't Pokemon.

"And why are monkeys still around?"

Where else would they be?

"And for all of those people who believe in the 'big bang' , well if there was no life, then how did anyone/anything cause earth to just appear?"

Gravity doesn't need anyone around in order to form a planet.

"And when people are dying, why else would they say or point to where they're going, Heaven, if it wasn't real? some dying people are so out of it they can't remember their name, yet they can point to where they're going!!"

Well now, isn't that meaningless.

"Neither Creationism nor evolution has been proven, but look at what America WAS founded on. Christianity."

See point 1 above.

"U just have to believe! [snip drivel]"

If you can't be bothered to type an additional two letters to properly spell "you" then I can't be bothered to take you seriously.

6/20/2012 6:50:17 AM

Doubting Thomas

what was this country founded on? CHRISTIANITY! IT is in the constitution!

OK please show me exactly where in the Constitution that Christianity is mentioned.

The rest of this rant appears to be nothing more than a list of the most overused fallacious arguments in favor of Christianity.

Brendan Rizzo

How did anybody get this ignorant? One could arrive at a true statement by taking every individual sentence in this screed and flipping it on its head.

6/20/2012 6:54:53 AM

Rants like this are all the more reason evolution needs to be taught.

*in singsong voice* Someone hasn't read the Constitution!
Sure, I haven't read it either, but I'm not American. I still know that Congress shall make no laws concerning religion. something like that...

We are in the process of evolving into something more adapted to the changing environment, stupid, just wait a few hundred thousand years, then you'll see. Neither bigger nor better, just different. Monkeys are just as "bigger and better" as we are, compared to our common ancestor some 2 million years ago.

What caused God to just appear? "It can't happen!!!"
Do you hate every single deity you don't believe in? I don't think so.
The way you thingk about Qeutzalcoatl, is the way we think about your god.

Atheism teaches (if anything at all) REALITY, stupid. Atheists in average tend to be more inclusive and accepting than Christians. How do you feel about gays, KK? Do you feel LOVE and RESPECT towards them, would you welcome a gay to marry your sister?
