Your health IS NOT MY PROBLEM. Can't afford to pay for care? Then STAY HEALTHY! It's not that hard! There are two primary sources of health care: Your OWN ACTIONS and your RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. I mean it. God heals illness when he chooses to. When he chooses not to, then nobody can help you anyway! If you want to supplement your OWN actions by getting the advice of a doctor or using medication, then PAY FOR IT. If you can't, that's sad for you, but you have no right to FORCE ME to pay for you!

I fucking hate people like this. It reminds me of a certain in-law I have who happily accepts unemployment for herself, gets SSI for her disabled children, is trying to get disability for a condition of her own she admits she exaggerates, then goes nuts over the idea of HER tax dollars going to pay for other people's health care. She thinks, apparently, she's entitled to help but anyone else who might need it is a freeloader. Needless to say, she's a Jesus freak, a Fox News watcher, and a Bush-lover who calls Obama a babykiller on a daily basis and thinks vegetarians (like me) are evil because that means we worship animals over Jesus.

Go for it. Under the current system--and probably "Obamacare" too, since it's not the best solution--you probably will die at some point because you can't get access to medical care or simply can't afford it even though it's readily accessible.

I'm incredibly selfish when it comes to health as well - I don't want to catch some ghastly illness because someone couldn't afford to stay in the isolation ward or have a course of antibiotics. I don't want to have to provide lifetime support to a relative whose leg was broken when getting it put back together properly would mean that person could work and pay their own food bills. I don't want to see people in pain - it makes me feel icky. I'm willing to pay for my selfishness.

Yes they do. The US, like almost every other civilized country, has laws that forbid refusing medical services to someone who can't pay for them. There's a notice to that effect posted in every hospital in the country. Only the most selfish person alive would deny medical help to a dying child or a guy lying on the street because they happened to be broke. So, as you said, you have no right to force me to pay for you; which is what you'll do if you have a heart attack or cancer and can't pay for treatment, because I guarantee when the time comes, you're not going to follow your own glib advice.

Also, Jesus healed the sick and said many things about giving to the poor and needy. Apparently you're a Christian in name only. Also, do us all a favor and take your own advice when you come down with a serious illness. Don't go to a doctor and make us pay for you, just pray it away. If you get better, then it was god's will, and if you die, it was god's will too.
