We plan to fire the liberals in our company
We have a small production office and after today's decision by those putrid traitors on the SC. We will fire our obama-worshiping employee. Hey, it's not my fault. WE CAN'T AFFORD HIM now after the decision. I hope for the worst on those scums on the SC and this POS p-resident.

Aren't there anti-discrimination laws?
@ Mudak:
I am upset with him. A real liberal would never have compromised with the reactionaries, and would have basically done his (or her) darndest to turn America into a country far more like Europe than it is today. Because it's nothing more than appeasement to the insurance companies, Obamacare is worse than nothing at all.
So now your company has only conservatives.
Remember that Ayn Rand book where the producers go on strike and only the incompetent are left?
You just did that to yourselves.
Actually this might be perfectly legal, depending on the state.
There was a woman who, in 2008, was fired for supporting Obama. The news stories pointed out it was legal where she lived. (The Obama campaign hired her.)
If I ever find out who this poor employee is, you can bet I'll email him this quote and the name of a good lawyer.
@Mudak
When you consider the sheer number of Bush administration policies Obama has continued, I don't get the right-wing hatred of him.
Have you seen the color of his skin?
I live in Colorado, which is an "employment at will" state. If this guy actually has a company and lives in an employment at will state, he can fire anyone at any time. However, that employee can collect unemployment benefits if terminated for anything other than incompetence or violation of policy, etc.
I find it laughable though that one would fire a competent employee because of a SC decision that said employee had nothing to do with... lol.
But then, if one were to fire people for being conservative or Christian this guy would be screaming bloody murder.
max americana - great name for someone so clue-less about equal rights, free speech and non-discrimination.
Why would you employ somebody in your mother's basement? Is it because you need somebody to act as an intermediary or translator between you and your mother?
If you remove him from your company then you'll be alone again, as before. Remember those long, tedious, lonely, hateful years? Unless of course you plan to hire a new friend, er, I mean intermediary.

As any halfway decent business minded person knows, diversity is one of the important engines of a good company (or of any group for that matter). If you have a homogeneous group, instead of the expected streamlining all you get is stagnation.
Go ahead, eliminate your diversity. Your competition will thank you for doing so.
When you go broke, you'll just blame Obama & Co. anyway, so don't bother telling us about it.
@Mystik Spiral: One shouldn't be THAT surprised, given that a good chunk of American culture has all but made vengeance a sacrament. "Someone must pay!" And if they can't get Obama or the Supreme Court to do it, then one of the ones who let Obama in willingly shall suffer vengeance.
Vengeance-as-sacrament probably helps explain the imprisonment problem, too. Despite at LEAST many prisons essentially being slavers, many Americans either excuse it or justify it as visiting proper vengeance on sinne...er...criminals. "They must pay!", after all.
Calvinist and quasi-Calvinist forms of Christianity probably have quite an influence here. Being wrath-addled is apparently an integral part of God's sanctity, so if society is wrath-addled, then it MUST be doing something right. (You may now correct my train of reasoning.)
Actually, under 18USC§594, firing employees for their votes could be construed as voter intimidation. In some states, firing for mere party preference is not, provided there is no federal nexus. I suspect there are other provisions that could apply. Interesting, Watson.
Summary: "What makes our company so profoundly American? We were founded in America. Yeah, we know we should probably follow those principles the United States was founded upon - freedom of opinion and all that - but seriously, screw that shit."
Saying "Hey, its not my fault" is kinda revealed to be bullshit, considering you just told the whole internet that your only basis for termination is that he's liberal.
You can't claim it's not discrimination while saying "its only because he's different".
Yes, because the conservative Supreme Court upheld most of a law that forbids insurance companies from dropping you when you're sick or denying you due to pre-existing conditions.
Even though the individual mandate is practically a giveaway to the insurance companies, it's not enough for those greedy bastards so they're lobbying hundreds of millions of dollars so they can do what they do best: sentence sick people to death or debt (or both).
From what I've read this is a 2.9 percent tax on HIS paycheck. Companies who already provide healthcare will get a break. Employers are lying their asses off about this. Hey, Idiot. Hint for you.
Your boss rights off entertainment, when you and the family blow $120 bucks on a meal or recreation you're out $120 bucks. When your boss does this he's out $60 bucks, unless you're a company that makes a shitload then he's out NOTHING. This bullshit is a long honored Canadian tradition too.
We're paying for rich peoples health care, meals and 2nd homes RIGHT NOW.
"Eat the Rich" becomes more profound every year.
@Brendan - ain't that the truth! I used to work for a stock broker firm where the president of the company was only that because he inherited it from daddy who built the company from the ground up. He made WELL into 6 figures in salary, not to mention his annual bonus that was about 1/3 of his salary. And if he spent as much time at the office as he did on the golf course I'd eat my hat.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
