[on why chemistry explained Creationism]

Water's formula hasnt evolved since the creation of earth, H2O is water, and the combination couldnt be anything else to be called water.

Wait... what?

She didn't seem to get it either. After people pointed out that the two are unrelated she didn't have a very good reason for how that makes sense.

The poster's train of thought as the thread progresses is mind boggling

There's just the slight problem that chemicals aren't organisms.

El Cubano

I hope you realize that evolution has nothing to do with the chemical formula for water.

Hmmmm, what about the isotopes of water?

Keep the fuck out of a career in Nuclear Physics for the sake of the enitre Eastern Seaboard.

To quote someone else's schtick here:

\"If you don't know what you're talking about, shut up!\"

And this is definitely one of those situations!

Never heard that H2O is an arbitrary convention for naming an inorganic component?

9/11/2007 5:13:37 AM

Go take a chemistry course for you might be in for a shock!

9/11/2007 6:20:41 AM

chemicals do not equal organisms, foo!

9/11/2007 6:55:23 AM

How about you take some basic chemistry education, moron

Haven't you heard? Water was replaced worldwide by Hydrogen Oxide, or Oxygen Hydrate, depending on where you're swimming.

Heavy water
Making water
Water on the brain
Mouth watering
Eye watering

Let's make the water turn black.

Steam? Ice? dihydrogen monoxide?

9/21/2007 9:53:33 AM

No. No. No no. No. No no no. Just...no.

You fail at life. Go back to birth.

Leo Szilard

Have you signed the petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide?

9/21/2007 10:06:51 AM

No, no, that's dihydrogen monooxide you are talking about there.

9/21/2007 10:23:26 AM

Water, water everywhere
but none to think!

9/21/2007 10:32:15 AM

Actually, the unique structure of water gives it certain properties that made the origin of life possible.

Still, fundies would definetly call this a "design by God", so it doesn't really help us.

9/21/2007 10:35:29 AM

I guess if we taught critical thinking in our schools, we'd miss out on little gems of stupidity like this...

9/21/2007 10:53:48 PM

Chemical elements don't evolve. At least in the way you think

Aslo: WTF!!!

An inability to distinguish two different fields of science -- I should have realized there's no floor to ignorance.

Someone should send her an email describing polywater, without mentioning it was a lab mistake, then suggest she read Cat's Cradle. Wonder if she likes gaslight :-)

I just read their entire little back and forth. I now feel dumber for having read it.
